The coach makes those decisions Charlie. In front of where I was sat today were Spencer, Paterson, Brierley, Worthington, McNally wasn't far away and a couple of others. Our next three fixtures are against the other 3 FT sides, maybe that had something to do with the choices today.

Derek you can't count McNally he won't be available for months,we don't know about Patterson, and Jersey Centurion has told us Ryan was dropped, I agree the Coach makes the decisions, more than likely Worthington will be back next week as we have few injuries,maybe Spencer as well, but today's pack looked solid, I just feel Ryan feeding off Rangis passes would benefit his speed and eye for a gap, just my opinion of course.

Heard today we are tracking Lee Gaskell for next season, maybe as a replacement.

He will most likely go Huddersfield. Bulls are just showing interest to ensure Brierleys head aint in right place to play. As for Gaskell he will be in SL next year either way.

Can't believe anyone still believes the Brierley is leaving rumours, think he's "definitely signed" for every club in Super League now. The last few weeks League Express has shown themselves up to be nothing more than a collection of rumours most likely made up in their own offices. Used to think it was a decent RL paper, know it's not worth the paper it's printed on now.

Listening to Jukeseys interview after the match on GMR he was asked why no Brierley and he basically said he'll be rotating the team and it would be the same Question no matter who didn't play ie : if it Ridyard or Chase was not used today or - 3 into 2 won't go.
He also said the same would apply to the forwards and all the other positions.
Lots of competition for places, probably a pity we don't have a reserve team (or reserve league of standard).
We got stung last season by being jaded at the business end, I don't think that will happen this season.

We'll be saving him for the big games...... I wonder if Brierley can play 9, or maybe Rangi/Ridyard could go there when Higham comes off? We could keep Brierley on the bench like Australia did with Kurt Gidley and put him on at 13 and give him a free role to do whatever he wants....

It really is pathetic. Ryan is not picked. So the rugby papers ring him to ask him if he is fit to play and has he been dropped. More stories about bids from here there and everywhere.

Just as sad are the fans that are doubting the coach because he left out their blue eyed boy, only 17 can play and if we want to have everyone fit at the sharp end of the season then I would expect everyone to have a spell in the stands.

Exactly Reffy. But if he does go, so what. We just roll our sleeves and get on with. It has happened before and it will happen again and this type of thing is not just a Leigh RLFC problem. It happens in every single club in every single league. Very, very bored with the whole thing. Tim Sheens has a saying that sums situations like this up. "It's very ordinary".

Poor reporting? Again? Surely not. They really are getting as fixated as some of the opposing teams trolls in the Ryan situation. Is there even a situation?

Lets face it Ryan loves the attention, who leaked the Rowley clause? why is he constantly speaking to the press?. Good luck to him, he is far from a regular super league player and will be loaned out somewhere or stuck in Hudds under 21's for most of the campaign if we do get an acceptable bid.

OK JP gets "rested or Dropped" frequently and if i'm not mistaken is close to a try an appearance, but no Spanish inquisition ( yes i did mention the Spanish inquisition) when he doesn't play why should any player automatically be in the team. Maybe we are trying to give our key players the best opportunity of being in top form for the (supposed) tougher or vital games ahead, no drama as far as i'm concerned .

Ste , I agree nobody has a divine right to be in a team, and I see your point about Pownall, but Jonny isn't like Ryan,who can change and win a game in the blink of an eye, I think Ryan's tries to games are something like 1.5 tries per game in his Leigh career, which is top class by anyone's standards.Fo.k keep going on about the tough games later in the season, I presume they mean the 8's ,but we have to get there, I take nowt for granted ,hopefully we will ,and I think when we do get there , if we do ,then if needed Derek will again bring in a new face or faces.

The Watcher believes that Brierley was left out of the squad on Sunday due to interest from Huddersfield Giants. Lets hope he realizes he is better of at Leigh for at least another 10 months or so.

Ryan was in the squad but Juky decided to rotate him.

I am sure Ryan knows the vast majority of our fans think he is a brilliant player.
