As usual the Leigh 'Cyber Mafia' are out in force.

You all seem to have fairly short memories. Im not saying our fans are angels but Leigh as a group of supporters have their fair share of idiots.

The Leigh fans who decided to sing going down, going down decided to stop and do so right at the exit to the ground - they weren't 'leaving the terraces' as one Leigh fan stated. The group concerened were looking for confrontation from the moment they arrived.


The saying those who live in glass houses comes to mind.

Your fans were singing exactly the same last season, one of which was dressed in nothing more than an adult sized nappy. Under normal circumstances I would assume it was end of season fancy dress, but I'm not too sure now.

It happens, get over it.

Even without Stewards Training Dave it's basic people skills and basic respect which sadly seem to be lacking in this case .............very poor !

Like the one who watched me set up my camera and equipment in the stand and when I asked him if I was allright 'here' he said 'NO SOMEONE SITS NEXT TO IT YOU WILL HAVE TO MOVE ALONG A BIT' when I asked why he watched and let me set up there he just shrugged his shoulders and smiled then quoted health and safety at me, so I reached behind me and showed him the stand power cable that had been cut and just left there (no I didnt stick my finger on the end to see if it was live

)and re quoted Health and safety back at him he wasn't impressed the pratt. Get your stewards and facilities sorted Whitehaven they are amongst the worst in the league, good job I had a good supply of batteries, this sort of thing shouldnt happen in this division its pathetic.

Maybe some of the Haven fans should speak to the young lad a few years back who was so worse for wear with drink he missed the coach , was he assaulted with baseball bats , robbed and left to the mercy of the leyth hordes ?

No he was given a lift by a leigh director to a pub run by another Leigh director were he stayed until the following day when his father could drive down to pick him up

It is just a game , not life or death , I personally have never had any problems with any fans from Cumbria , maybe it is because no matter what happens on the pitch , when the whistle goes , it is over , we are all fans of the GG , a smile and a " see you next year " goes a long way to a happy exit

Plenty 'Haven fans said the same to me after the game on Sunday, I must admit and were similarly unimpressed with the stewards.

For what it's worth, the first 'going down' chant was only started when one of the 'Haven fans who was hurling abuse outside of the bar came across with a tirade that I believe was translated in to English as something along the lines of "you shouldn't even be playing us you cheating barstewards".

Would that be the other wheelchair bound guy who you were explaining Gatesheads misdemeanours to Matt? He was so appreciative of you taking your time to explain, he told you to 'go away' as you walked away.

I didn't hang around much to be honest, I was dying to pay a visit, so to speak

The same complaints have been made about 'Haven year after year. Still, Hilton Park is probably in better nick now than the appopriately named Rec ever will be.

Our old one had at least a working electricity plug the away teams video crew could use, and yes we have and its very nice too your video crew will be welcome anytime if you could afford to send one something your lot havent done for the last couple of years.

Im sorry you didnt enjoy your trip up to Whitehaven, the true fans who go to the matches everyweek regardless of the score or the league position never cause this sort of trouble. Its usually the people who dont have a clue about Rugby League.

Every club has their share of idiots unfortunatly.

I would appriciate you wouldnt put all us haven fans under the same roof as those idiots as most of us get along with all other fans.

Hopefully your next trip to Haven (if we stay up) is more enjoyable.

I appreciate your sentiments mckenzie, however if your club cannot be bothered to even acknowledge my email let alone state they are investigating the stewards and wheelchair derby incidents, then The Recreation Ground is off my radar completely. I will not put my family through that again. I spoke to a Bern Amor who gave me her email address. Having said that the RFL don't acknowledge or reply to emails either.

There is no club official site I can find either, I thought in this day and age all clubs had a presence in the internet.

Well they are either changing to the new RL based one, not renewed the certificate (like I didn't) or have proved the recent rumours true and gone belly up.

By the "no further comment" part, I can only imagine it's a legal issue.

Im afraid there's nothing I can do about the club not replying, they should step forward and send apologies and take action but Im not in control of anything that happens down there.
I can agree with you on some of the stewarding at the ground, it isnt professional, but not all the stewards that work at the rec act like that.

To what I remember iv never had any trouble with any Leigh fans at home or away so I cant say anything against anybody.
