Best and possibly the first chap KP got (back) in upon the latter's "acting" appointment. Between them they have changed, not just the style but the ethos of the team.

Whatever level we are playing at in 2019, MH should stay. Can't see another year as a player, but KP would be more open to him taking a coaching role, rather than seeing the ambassadorial one fudged under NJ.

It is a difficult one, Higham has a lot of attributes that he can bring in to the side no question about that for me. However he is 38 soon and we are still reliant on the guy.

Also I am not sure if I would want Hood or Mortimer make way out of the 17 to accommodate him either. Certainly is one to ponder.

Unless of course Purtil is considering throwing in a curve ball of moving Mortimer to the halves at the expense of at least one under firing half back.

News in Aus says he now ain't coming over due to injuries at Gold Coast and they aren't happy to release him.

So, we've announced a signing, got him a sponsor and it turns out he wasn't even released from his club. At the same time, we announced that another one was going to be announced. And at the moment, we seem to have neither player.

I'm more concerned about the fact in taking someone on who is supposedly injured.

It's not Elliott that's injured. It's the players above him in the pecking order at Titans

To be honest was it worth him coming for potentially 1 game that i would expect us to win anyway , IF we get into the 8s then we will need to bolster , until then its pointless making signings ..

Only problem is the transfer deadline is 5pm on Friday July 27. So you have to gamble on whether you will need new blood or not.

I suspect the club acted in good faith, having believed he had signed. Even in his post match interview at Rochdale, KP said the club was just awaiting visas. (in the plural) Obviously Gold Coast have had a couple of injuries and reneged on Elliott's release. Not much that Leigh can do about that. I just wish the publicity machine was a little more active, when things go wrong - surely bad news happens sometimes?

He fully commits himself to every tackle,yes he's injury prone for that reason. Yes he was injured when Leigh bought him from 10 miles up the road. Not 10,000 miles. But that doesn't matter because Elliot isn't injured, it's the better players above who are.

It should do IMO, we have a transfer deadline for a reason and a transfer can’t be completed without a visa.

Jackson Hastings at Salford and Todd Carney st Hull kr are also waiting for visas.

I'd say yes, because those are the rules. In Elliott's case, it doesn't matter, because his employers changed their minds about releasing him - and that's their prerogative. Anyway, I would question Leigh (or anyone) signing overseas' players at this stage, for 2018 season, because they have virtually zero time to settle in, for the 'Eights' - and that's before you factor in whether Leigh, in this case, even make the 'Eights'!

I have no idea, with everyone available the back 5 are pretty strong TBH.

Let's see if Evans plays this weekend, I have a hunch that we're not going to see a great deal more of him - which is a shame bbecause we need his experience and pace should we make the 8s
