| If SL/RFL are going to do it we have to be in it.
We've already made it clear as per Keith Freer's comments at the last fans form that we are willing to step up if Bradford either cannot do so or are deemed unfit to. Therefore for us not to get involved would surely put a question mark about our ability to step up next season when the normal round of franchising is carried out.
How would they work it though... lets say either Leigh, Fev or Fax get in ahead of Bradford, does this then mean that this club is ommitted from the franchising review next year thus getting 4 years to get it right or would they not go through the process at the end of next season?
Apologies if this has been answered as I haven't had time to read the entire thread.

| I loathe the licenscing system.
We have already signed on contract the bulk of our squad for next season.
Those contracts are for part time players.
The RFL know that. They know that about Fev and Fax being in the same situation.
The RFL will keep Bradford in because they have no alternative and the reason being is because this ridiculously stupid idea was guaranteed to protect those now in Nonrelegation League.
This is not what competative sports in this country should be about.
At the end of 2013 scrap the current farce and reintroduce what is needed to make the sport fair and transparent.
No club should be able to offer new contracts to players until the final game of next season.

Back in cloud cuckoo land again?
When will you see there are NO businesses lining up to invest in a small club living it the shadow its more glorious neighbours.
We love LCRLC. No one else does.
It's not difficult.

In a nutshell.
I'd love Leigh, Fax, Fev and Sheffield to show some solidarity by releasing a joint statement saying something along the lines of [i'Get stuffed. We have no desire to be cannon-fodder in this sham you call a licensing process.'[/i However, that won't happen so we'll have to play along.

| Leigh Centurions can confirm that the playoff fixture with Featherstone Rovers will take place on Thursday 13th September, with a 7:30pm kick off at the Big Fellas Stadium.
Admission prices will be as follows:
Adults £15 Concessions £9 Children £3
After Leigh Centurions’ attempts to seek funding assistance for transport from Featherstone have not materialised, the club has pushed on and secured contributions from our own loyal sponsors. We beLEIGHve that this approach will give many more of our passionate fans the opportunity to get behind our team at the Big Fellas Stadium next Thursday night.

DJ - Am a synic, to the point where I believe that most if not all shared gates are miss-represented, unfortunately it appears to be the way of the world where clubs are only out for themselves, which is a crying shame. Please bear in mind I can still remember a time when all games where shared gates, unfortunately the larger clubs didn't like this so what happened was that for league games the home team now keeps the proceeds, so that the big clubs can get bigger to the detrimant of the smaller clubs, and for me this has got worse over the years.
For example Wigan play Saints this weekend and if Wigan win they will probably be playing again in the 1st round of the SL playoffs (1v4), now I know all the excusses will be out about the game doesn't matter (like this week to a point), it's on a Friday (like this week), Season ticket holders don't like paying (but they did for their season ticket and are generall the most loyal fans), etc. but I suspect if this scenario does happen the play-off game will have a smaller crowd than the league game, as seems to be the way with most shared gates.
Also for example attendance last night at The Shay 1203 and for the regular season fixture 2378.
As for the attendance at the Fev/Leigh play-off game next week I'll let you make your own mind up and if you want my opinon in private please feel free to contact me directly.

| One thing ive never got about that is.. how do you get round the health and saftey lark as surely it's a certainty those fellas know exactly how many people are in the ground incase of fire and so forth.
I always thought the best way to fudge gate monies was for clubs to announce concessions instead of full paying adults...

You do make me laugh sometimes, "Lewis loving"?
Firstly, go back through this thread and show me where I've supported this bloody stupid idea? Go on... one example will do.
Secondly, I hate to break it to you, but Richard Lewis doesn't work for the RFL any longer. He left about six months ago.
Is that really the best you can come up with when someone points out the flaws in your buddies suggestion.
2/10, must try much harder.

Well there's no mini franchise on offer now that the RFL have given Bradford a one year probationary licence to carry on in SL.

Once again the RFL have managed to make our game into the laughing stock of the sporting world. Shame on you.

| Although glad there won't be the farce of a mini franchise the whole thing has been laughable ,did we expect any other outcome ,no we didn't but, as far as the RFL goes they have bent over backwards to help them .
