Col,apperently McNally has already been informed he is surplus to requirements for next season,and I never said he was a failure,though I don't think he is a SL player,I agree again he would score plenty of tries in the Championship,but it seems Jukesy or KC have no plans for him.

Got too look at it like this.... Of the ones left too retain who do we actually want too keep? People keep chucking riddys name out there but he wouldn't of made any difference last year... We missed pace not organisation... Drinky was good last year but didn't have the ability too keep the defence honest neither did Reynolds.. Pains me too say it but ridyard isn't a necessity.. Depending on the rest of the recruitment I personally would run with Mortimer at 7 and Reynolds at 6.. Mortimer has the little yard and step that we so desperately lacked last year.. I do think we will see at least one other half back coming in... McNally has too stay for me.. So vital in attack for us he's a third halfback on the field and directs well at full back.. Same with Harrison Hansen he is a leader.. Blood sweat and broken bones he gets us there and deserves another year... After watching him highams interview he has got another year left.. Get hood re signed and have Micky/hood interchanging.. things are looking brilliant we can't be too soft but a few of these lads need to be resigned for me!

With what we have confirmed and who we still have potentially, I would run Reynolds at 7, Riddy at 6, and Mortimer/Higham at 9. I would also retain McNally for fullback and keep HH. I would also like to see Brown retained for centre/fullback. I understand that not all may stay for reasons I don't know about, but on pure playing ability/potential thats how I'd go.

We need a leader to help gel the new players and instill the work ethic on and off the field. Mickey Higham can more than do a job on the field next year and will instill the right culture off the field.

Micky a 50/50 at the moment only time will tell but to be honest we got 3 hookers for next season already so it’s hard to see where he will fit in. As for riddy it’s testimonial year for him and believe he was offered ten grand less cause he would make it back up on his testimonial and I’m sure that’s not how it’s meant to work like that but I’m not the one offering these contracts

We don't need to go to Aus, keep Langi, we know he can play centre, probably second row, but first and foremost he is a stand off by all accounts, he got better with every game he played for us.
Micky and Harrison have been very good for us, but sorry to say they are to long in the tooth now and this is no time for sentiment, injuries at their age take a much longer recovery time. Same with Danny Tickle.
But still think that the biggest waste of money is DB's chioce and faith in the coach, last season week after week on these pages people were scratching their heads in wonderment at the selections and tactics he employed, he will win more games next year and his flaws will be masked over, but simply he is not a long term solution.

DB should have supported him with experience from the time we won a SL place imo, he went from number 2 to taking us to promotion without planning on taking the head coach role - that deserved loyalty. Who knows how he will develop I am old enough to have seen Man U fans baying for Fergies head

Well as far as KC is concerned he can't possibly know how good McNally is because he hasn't seen him enough!
The best individual try last season was Gregg's effort against top four Salford, pure class ! it was much better than Hardakers 'run' against Leeds. Nobody gives a better long pass at Leigh than Gregg and, he always gets it away.
I've not seen Owens a lot but, I know he's nowhere near as classy as McNally! I wouldn't keep Brown either, he is very poor at centre and worse at fullback! The four away games he played consecutively at the back end of the season he was diabolical, particularly at Wire and Huddersfield!
Very very poor decision to release Gregg and I personally am disappointed if true, sadly, the coaching staff at Leigh obviously cant see the ability Gregg has and I'm disappointed I never got to see him at scrum half or, stand off!
To answer your opinion on him being SL class, he was getting stronger by the match and, it was a baffling decision to see him dropped for the last two games unfortunately, the last two seasons had seen him obtain serious injuries and he was only just getting back to his best! I will miss watching him play, good luck Gregg and thanks for giving us loyal service and superb entertainment!

Kirky, I have watched Greg for a while now , I respect your opinion about him , but my opinion is he is a good Championship player but not in SL, it seems Jukesy and KC agree, for me Hopkins was a mistake to release , but I feel the Management know more than me,m very happy with the recruiting for next year.
