He's been booed at several England games including at Leigh, Leeds and Hull.

| Quote ="JENKY"As someone who used to follow GB and (latterly) England home and away I think its fair to say a number of SL fans do that, I once saw Cunningham reacting to a load of abuse playing for GB from Wigan fans
I remember having a blazing row in the South Stand at Headingly when Edwards copped virtually non stop abuse when putting in a cracking performance for England v South Africa in a World Cup game, now Edwards was no hero of mine (put him in a Wigan shirt and he was the biggest shyster going

| Quote ="Fylde_Warrior"Hiya St annes boy, cmon Wigan dont need help and that ref caned us. The realisation was after rthe linesman deleted 3 try's he stood for a forward pass and the ref ignored him.
Fantastic turnout for a game we couldn't win, and I trust Trevor now knows the passion in our side of the borough
Total respect for what wane is doing and hope we can getcloser in the years to come - btw your fans were slaughtered tonight
'"
If you think the referee was to blame then Leigh have no chance of ever getting anywhere. The referee was generous to Leigh tonight. He made allowances. It is a very simple rule, if more than one player is part of a tackle you cannot strip the ball. Imagine if the Leigh players had engaged their brain and stopped stripping the ball. Penalty count half immediately.
No slaughterhouse near the DW I believe we got what we wanted, an easy win, opportunity to blood some youngsters, no injuries and progress to the next round and Leigh got a vital financial handout. Hopefully, Leigh can use that handout to start to compete with Halifax, Feathertstone and Sheffield.
Tonight was the poorest Leigh team I have seen. I obviously watch Leigh far less than you Leythers do but that team was as poor as I can recall.[/quot

| I thought the Ref did us no favours by being a bit to keen on with his no holding on in the tackle which caned us with penalties or which allowed Wigan quick PTB's that they ripped us to bits outside from for try after try in the opening 20 in each half ( thought we held our own in both 2nd 20's though ) .
Good finishing though .

| Made up with the lads last night, think Briscoe and Riddy deserve a special mention.
Brierley & Parker played well too.
I can't believe how big and strong Sam Tomkins is compared to a couple of years ago.
On the positives Wigan didn't really get anywhere through our pack, but the flair of the half backs and pace, strength out wide was way way too much for our slow back line, but as we've all said in recent weeks we need more pace out wide.
1890 Leythers there in the north stand (plus however many were down the side), and every single one should be there for the bigger game v Batley next week.
Flute song...only negative from the night.

| Quote ="Fylde_Warrior"You had one try rightly disallowed as the ball was lost and another wrongly given at the end despite knock ons and possibly no grounding of the ball.
McNally was awful and Littler did not want to know whenever Lockers or Hansen came near him. Brierley showed glimpses and Parker took his try well. Beyond Brierley their is no attacking ability in the current Leigh set up. You despartately need more D/C input.

Did you go to Hull KR over Easter? I was wondering how they would fare against "the best Championship teams", or even against us?

| I too was also very proud of the lads and our fans. However i do not like some of the songs we sing, i really dislike the flute and then in 2nd half a rendition of your going home to **** your sister. However overall happy today unlike after the shay shambles

| Quote ="Fylde_Warrior"The penalty count reflected the stupidity of your players. Do not blame the referee who was very generous to Leigh.'"
I'm sorry read enough of your totally clueless opinions. The ref was not very generous to Leigh but we struggled with the pace Wigan set, tried to slow it down and paid the cost no problems with me. What I do have a problem with he disallowed 3 Leigh tries ( one correctly as riddy did lose the ball in contact just b4 grounding it & 2 incorrectly ) young hampshire's try came from a pass that went out to charnley originally & was 2 yd forward. Linesman held his ground to signal it was forward & was totally ignored by Thomason. You also put in a couple of very high shots that he allowed to go also. I was lucky to be invited by friends of mine ( Wigan fans ) to watch the game from their box last night and had a fantastic night surrounded by Wigan fans who gave nothing but praise to the Leigh teams & supporters efforts last night. I for one was a proud Leigh fan last night, my only wish now is that we continue with the brand of rugby & gameplan we used last night for the rest of this season. Also how quick is Sam tomkins, young Ryan had two goes at out pacing him last night and got run down, not something that he or we are used to seeing

| After the game last night , Charlie and friends ,went to players bar in the South Stand , about , we stood out so much , being the ONLY fans in there wearing Leigh colours , but were made very welcome , about 6 Wigan fans came up to us Congratulating us on our Performance , with statements of "I wish our fans made as much noise as yours did ", "Who was your 7 ?He looks very good ", "You didnt deserve that score against you ", one even said it was the best atmosphere other than a Saints game , well done Leythers .
We spoke to a few Leigh players in the Bar , Maden said it was like running into a Brick Wall all night , i thought Riddy and Brierley had very good games , maybe the same score as the Fax game but totally different display to the Leythers .
We know Wigan are a good team , Sam Tomkins is class , and their finishing was very good , my only downer was the stupid , somtimes abusive singing , but for me Leyth Fan when they want to be are the BEST no doubt , its a pity probably half of last nights fans wont be at LSV next week for the Batley game , but Charlie will ,CMON YOU LEYTHERS .

| Last night proves that we are capable of moving the ball about and off-loading in the tackle , I just hope we do it more often now that we know that's what the fans want to see .
For me the move that led to Parkers score was the try of the night .

| Well it just goes to show what our club can achieve if we BeLeighve.
No loan players no DC players.
Wigan who have 10 times what we are able to spend on the salary cap. Conceding 22 points in the opening 15 minutes against a full time squad but yet every single player last night never gave up.
My 3 footie fan friends who came loved the atmosphere created by our fans and I am sure will come again.
Re the flute song. Well you either join in or you don't. I always sing stuff Wigan Rugby and the IRA.
There was a lot of criticism after last week about our coach. Well last night showed he can get our players fired up.
I hope the ones who came last night turn up next Sunday. With that sort of passion from our fans and players for every game left this season we can BeLeighve.

Didn't ground it as Charnley punched it out, wasn't a try though as you say.
Does anyone know what the official penalty count was last night and also what Rowley said in the after match interviews ?

| Well i have finally arrived home and i am rough as a dog!
Had a great couple of days ,and had a great time at the match, apart from having an argument with a lamp post right in front of the Leigh coaches!
Sky bet have also paid out on Ryan scoring anytime in the game, much too Greggs annoyance ! im not complaining though!
I ended up in Leigh town till about 3 in the morning ,couldn't tell you where i went though, havent a clue! evenbody very friendly though.

| Was nice to see Chris Hill in the Leigh end cheering the lads on.
Always good to see former players still have a interest, a genuinely nice guy.

yourself. Why inopportune then? The argument you have been so eloquently stating would suggest that HKR aren't fit for SL, as a result of the eighty-odd points they conceded against a young Wigan team, and therefore naturally Saints also aren't fit for SL, courtesy of two successive defeats at HKR. Or, are you a Saints fan perhaps?
