I don't think that there will be many more when they play SAints if the rumblings are to be believed. People are not happy with the £25 and £19 for concession prices and they are the cheap seats.

Wigan have already shifted 2,200 of their 2,800 allocation in fairness - it's £20 behind the sticks (£3 more than the league game, as it happens).

Far too many games in far too short a period. Add in the fact that season ticket holders won't be used to paying out for so many games on the bounce and it's inevitable that crowds will suffer.

Last four Wigan, Saints, Leeds, Warrington, no surprises there.
Top teams playing each too often, so apathy setting in.
Sky TV has too much say.
No relegation interest in super league.
Door closed for all clubs outside super league.
Too much preoccupation in trying to develop the game in non RL areas. Always doomed to failure.
No wonder crowds are on a downwards spiral.
Unless there is a fundamental change to the way in which our game operates then RL will ultimately rank alongside synchronised swimming in terms of being a minority sport.

Well done the RFL - just waiting for them to say 2011 was the best season ever for SL, crowds are on the up again !!

Pies crowd for their 'do or die game' v Catalans was about 50% of their average league crowd this season.

It did say £25 and £19 on GMR on sunday.

The sport is dying, cheap season tickets now people won't pay to watch the biggest games of the season. Any lengthy RL fans amongst us take yourselves back to 1990/91 season the role of honour is below :-

Regal Trophy
League champions
Challenge Cup Winners
Premiership Final winners
Oh and a 3 game test series for a full blooded Aussie test tour who also played the top 8 teams from the previous season.

The test matches were played at sell put venues Old Trafford, elland road and a great crowd at Wembley not to mention sell out crowds at the club v touring Aussies.

Most of the above got full media attention and personally I went to most of the above. It's the sort of season that got me fully in love with rugby league......, fast forward to 2011 and we have two events to try and get media coverage.

Oh and I forgot to Marion despite a 30 or even 40 season fixture list we came within a whisker of winning the ashes.

Oh well apparently all is rosy in the SL garden!!

Must admit I thought it was a mistake.

Top 8 out of 14 teams for play offs don't help. It was ok how it was before with top 6.
As for W1gan - it was a walk in the park in most peoples eyes it appears, and they was right.
Together with ST holders not willing to pay, which is the same in football especially if its a game that is expected to win too.

Plus a guaranteed TV game as well

And sky are supposed to be the saviours of our game. I really do worry for the sport.

We now in theory should have a new generation of supporter about to start purchasing adult season tickets after 16 years of having a junior ticket. I'd love to know the conversion rate!!

Most clubs (and I hope we'd be one of them?) tends to have a 16-18 year old season ticket to bridge the gap a bit between kid and full paying adult. Even kids of 16-18 who aren't in full time education are on pitiful wages.

There is also a gap in 25-35 year olds who are fortunate enough to travel the country getting sssssssssed up eating lots of burgers watching football and rugby 24/7.

I would put their season ticket up 300% as I have not a clue why I pay my taxes for !!

RL is becoming like the carling cup in wendyball, where PL clubs are selling tickets for 10 quid, 5 for kids, and getting pathetic crowds, even the top clubs.

Why is it a problem to have a northern based comp? The ARL do Ok and have tried expansion that has not really worked, except new clubs in the aussie heartlands (Auckland and Melbounrne excepted).

We need a fix for these problems, and soon......

The problem remains with the concept of the playoffs. When we had a single league where we didn't play each other twice a season, it made sense.

Now no one cares too much between the end of the regular season and the Grand Final.

Can't say I blame them either TBH.
