If any club want to send an 'understrength team' thats their fault/problem a team can only play what's in front of them.
IMO we played well today our defence was uncomprimising, our attack will improve as the backs get used to playing with Ellis whose field kicking today was very intelligent indeed, get and keep Govin fit and he will be the spark we lacked last year as he will push players for their places in the halves, hooker and at loose, still think we are an outside back short of a good team but perhaps the StHelens youngster Armstrong will fulfill that role.

Well I see so much more potential throughout the side than I have for well over two decades maybe three. I
am astonished at our defence and think competition for places will see this side improving every game.

Todays scoreline flattered Salford.

Personally when I see Higson to me I see a centre but when Armstrong's available for us then we might see Higson on the wing which would give us some pace out wide (thats providing Armstrong aint no slow coach?) & McGilvary seemed to have pace today

As Fred said, Govin definitely did NOT play yesterday.
I havent seen such a strong defensive display from Leigh like that in years.

how can you tell the difference between "cherry" and "red"?

You dont see cherry and white because its an away kit you pillock, What would be the point of having the away kit the same colours as your home kit

we have not played in 'Cherry' well Iv'e been a supporter since 1964 and I have never seen a 'cherry red' hooped Leigh Jersey the 'red' we play in now has virtually been the same 'red' all that time.

I like that away top, very smart. Think i'll be having one of those.

The away top looks good to me, but i have not seen the home one in the flesh so to speak yet, so don't know which to buy.

home kit looks better than it did on the design image...away kit looks ok as well..a bit different, and you can afford to do that a bit more with an away kit..

If they'd left the design the same as the home kit and changed the red to purple and the shorts to black it would've been ace!

if you think about it the two kits this season use the colours of our two local amateur teams

that was probably why they left the yellow piping on the away kit?

If you look at O'Neills website they only seem to produce a few designs, maybe it's time they got a new designer in?

My marine stepson who came with us to the game was certainly getting a bit twitchy stood near him

In fairness most designers are like that (even Nike only have 4 different designs to choose from for football kits), I think it's just quite rare by our standards to have the same manufacturer for three consecutive seasons.

We played in Cherry & White through the 60's and possibly a liitle longer. The programme stated the colours of each team and we was always Cherry & White and I clearly remember the guy on the P.A. at the time announcing the teams by starting "Leigh, who will play in Cherry & White etc etc". I clearly remember the 'red' being a deeper 'red' than we have now (as the shirt from my childhood packed away in my loft).
