I think that Fev players have suffered injuries to their squad like any other club tbh.

Re Keighley I watched them Boxing Day and quite honestly I was not impressed as they seemed to play at Champ 1 speed.

I have to say Fev's squad looks the business and I am very surprised AND pleased at how good ours is considering the cover we now seem to have in key positions.

I watched Fax at Salford and though they did not play well at the LSV they looked pretty
usefull in the first half there.

We will qualify for the play offs and I hope we win a playoff game too.

Top 3 is what the bookies currently think but I am an optimist so OK we will finish top.

Our face doesn't fit in the current 'vision' for Super League, simple as that. I'd much rather remain a big fish in a small pond than be a perennial bottom 4 Super League club, which realistically is as far as we're going to go until one of us wins the Euro Millions.

All this talk of ending up a 'feeder club' would be exactly the same if we were a bottom 4 SL club, in fact even more so as we'd still be able to offer players Super League rugby for the youngsters, while the big clubs know we still wouldn't be able to compete financially once they come good.

This league is going to be an absolute belter this season, as it has been for the past 3 years at the very least. I think anybody who would swap Blackpool last year for a season like Salford/Wakefield/Castleford, even Bradford, are off their rocker.

This is where franchising lets the sport down, it kills investement at our level, and slowly squeezes the life out of clubs at the bottom, Salford have to attempt to build a viable fan base of 7,000 despite taking batterings most week, that would be exactly where we would be

Featherstone did not apply for Super League because they currently do not attract the crowds to sustain a full time professional team and there ground does not meet the criteria.
Halifax failed because They failed to provide sufficient detail in their marketing, media or commercial plans.
'The club business plan was inadequate, figures presented by the club as the budget and performance forecasts for the 2012-14 licence period were speculative and the club did not provide sufficient information for KPMG to complete their assessment procedures,' a Super League statement read.
If Halifax had have correctly submitted there bid they would have got a licence.

Their figures were ' speculative ' , so much like everybody else's , it is convienient that the SL statement was after the event

Fax were hung out to dry, after being set up and used

The idea that in the last round of licenses Fax would have got the nod before Widnes is not believable.

Does anyone think Widnes would have got in if Crusaders had not lost their backers ?

We have a closed shop until one of the cartel goes to the wall and even then a Championship club would not be a shoe in.

This system is anti competative and is not what sport should be about in this country for what is' wether folk like it or not' a primarily Regional game.

There aren't that many crowd pulling clubs in Kick and Clap but once the RFU introduced promotion and relegation those that did pull in a couple of thousand spectators have seen their gates increase.

Fev have been the most consistent club in the Championship and I am sure if the game had promotion and relegation their crowds would have gone up but even they struggle to attract 2000 speccies with the current regime.

I also think Sky money should be distributed more equitably if the RFL want to see our pro game prosper.

Widnes were in regardless what happened to the crusaders.it was wakefield that were save by crusaders going bust.

But how long will it be before they actually allow one to go to the wall. I still have my suspicions as to why they (The RFL) purchased the lease on Odsall from Bradford. That money did not go to Bradford Council as suggested by a few, it went to the Bulls who in the same press report deemed it necessary to state "Our debts are manageable". I think it was Crusaders decision to fold and they did not ask for any help to keep going beyond the original 600k.

I just hope the RFL got that back from the University that purchased the Racecourse ground as the RFLs dosh was secured against the ground.

You mean like it used to be before Sky/SL came along. Although there was not as much to share out then.

Thought i would get back on topic and say i reckon the top 4 will be:-

1. Fev
2. Leigh
3. Fax
4. Batley

The rest could really end up in any order but think that will be the top 4. Very impressed with Leigh last week but Fev are just so consistent. Should be a good season again though. Would love to go to two finals with Fax this year.

I enjoyed the crack with the FAX FANS IN BLACKPOOL, we had a lovely weekend with no trouble. So Id love for us and Fax in both finals.

I will defanatley drink to that.

And so will I but whoever we play in both Finals I really don't care.

Any Leythers backed us to win the Challenge Cup this season

Worth a bet that a team from Wigan Metro will win the cup this season.

I reckon it'll take us a little while to gel this year with all the additions, so I think we'll be pretty inconsistent throughout the season. Hopefully though, come play-off time we'll be ready.
