I predict an open game: Score Toulouse 18 Leigh 52-60

FuiFui's virus spreads, [ not contageous , the boys get jet lag [ 2 hour flight , the boys get the turn up time wrong with time difference, they have a hangover from drinking too much red the night before, the boys throw handbags and 5 are sent off - down to 8, the ref is paid by an Indian bookmaker to disallow all Leigh tries.
Weather is cloudy with occassional showers. Perfect temperature in the evening. Conditions perfect.

Well Tipster Ste will be suicidal! His challenge cup "tip" looks even further away.
Personally, glad the distraction of the challenge cup is out of the way. Getting to the quarters last year didn't help us in the middle 8's.

The loss today can be blamed on this poster and nobody else. It was destiny from the time he hit the 'post' button until the final whistle. This is a serious lesson Leigh fans. If any one of you ever posts a wall of text stating the ease with which victory will be accomplished, delete it immediately.

Without being there & knowing the facts it is nigh on impossible to decipher what went wrong.
The best *guess* I have is that the squad were just not up for it or at the races.
Surely our expensively assembled squad of ex SL & NRL squad 'should' have tucked Toulouse up in bed, patted them on the head with a "night - night, sleep tight".
I don't buy into the we went to Toulouse to lose idea at all, although I do believe that in the long run we will benefit from being out of the CC, especially where the possibility of injuries & fatigue are factored in.
I suppose only the likes of Frank 1 & others who have travelled can paint a clearer picture.

Apparently Toulouse bombed 3-4 tries with bad handling, probably down to nerves. From what i hear, Leigh threw the kitchen sink at them in the second half, but Toulouse to their credit defended like demons.
I quietly predicted an open game with lots of tries - Toulouse 22 - Leigh 44. So shocked at this result.
I think Toulouse have proven their credentials to be a good club, even better when they are in a position to sign a few big names into the squad. A true international RL is a step closer. Bring on the Canadian side.

Toulouse haven't proven anything yet.The only proof is failure last time in the British system.One victory over a championship side in a CC game doesn't foretell your future. |
