Now thats a difficult one

If the rumours are true it sounds a good idea. Reprieve 2nd bottom and invite 3 good winter teams to Championship 1 to have both for 12. I'd go one step further and invite 8-10 fairly good winter sides to join Bramley, Hemel, Nottingham and Warrington Wizards in a Championship 2 (then put the rest of the RLCN into Premier Divisions), but the latter might be a later plan.

Of course it may just be that the 2nd bottom in the Championship is reprieved to make up for the team called up to SL when Crusaders fold. Knowing the RFL rather than go for tried and tested amateur clubs they'll let poorly thought through Irish and Scottish sides into Championship 1

If you're serious (and as a firm believer in P&R, I'd love to see a footy-style genuine pyramid whereby any team can reach the top flight on merit with a nod to having the facilities to cater for the standard), then all power to your elbow.

I'll support Leigh East against anyone except Miners (as a one-time Leigh Ranger my inclinations are on the yellower end of the spectrum, though tbh I really become a neutral when the two great Leigh clubs meet)... and I'd extend the same courtesy to Miners, of course.... but when either face the club of HO, LSV, AJM and Johnny Woods and Dessie and miscellaneous Donlans, Martins, Taberns etc etc... then my allegiance is only in one place.

How many will the stand hold ?

Although I would grab at any lifeline to stay in the Championship, this would be fairly new ground for the RFL. They usually move the goalposts during the season, not after it!

No, it's being built by the same company that's doing Salford's, Wakefield's, Castleford's, Bradford's, Celtic Crusaders', and Saints' new stadia. And we all know they will be done by next season!

My brother was speaking to a Leigh director about the relegation rumour a couple of days ago. He said he knew nothing about it. As far as he was aware the rfl have told the club nothing about this and the club have already asked the rfl for special dispensation on the salary cap for next season should we be relegated.
