i think your mixing the two Leigh clubs up there and look at the trouble paying players got them into last season....now where did that money go?

I don't think Miners are to happy about John Taylor leaving either.. But with John having played around 20 of his 21 seasons* down at Leigh East, it can't of come as that much of a surprise.

*He started at U7's and is only 28

cant say any of this surprises me that players are leaving the miners, was predicted when the coach was appointed. Obviously something needs looking at in the way things are run at miners to solve why people are leaving.
Still dont think we can be written off just yet. Scott is a good lad and will work. The rest that have left used to be east lads anyway so you always get people going and coming back, they have produced winning sides without them so hopefully can do it again.

Mike Whiteside is staying at the Miners for one more season - after that even he doesn't know where he's headed.

Troubling times for us Miners if our star players are willing to leave (Ecky, Jonte, Scott O'Brian) and I know of another 2/3 who are mulling over it.

why are they mulling over moving i heard the coaching is a lot to be disired down at the club

the appointed coach they have had same one for at least 4 years who is the new coach

I agree with you there - everyone want's to finish off where it all started, even myself, even though I love playing at the Miner's when the time's right for me, I'll head back down my 'roots'.

But having said that the first team coach at Miner's isn't strongly liked by some players - that's not saying he is disliked but some would prefer another coach.

I too hope both Leigh team's are challenging for the NCL Title - imagine East V Miners Final....

I know that dean is staying at miners. There was a lot of controversy when the coach was appointed and no one will know exactly what goes on except the players but the rumours are that people dont like the way he runs the team and the way he treats the other teams there. We will still be strong and would love to see miners east finals!

no Winston Sarsfield still the coach as far as im aware unless its change over past couple weeks

well thats why they are all leaving ,they been doing that from day one he got the job ,he must have something on the commitee

I'm just curious to know what are the rules about paying amateur players and how many clubs in the NCL are doing it ?

Have the mighty Leigh East ever considered paying their players and reasons why not ?

Just an observation , but I wonder how many so called amateur players have turned down Pro contracts with Leigh because they are on more money playing in the amateur leagues ?
