That is an incredibly good point Matt, and i have to say was a slight oversight on my part ùntil it wax pointed out by your good self. However as it was on our home ground I am still claiming it towards my reasoning ha ha.

I agree totally with what your saying. TV plays a big part in SL and it's not a trend..It's down to TV scheduled programming..We are not in that position as of yet.So why take it to a Friday night?

Its a bad call,for a club who are promoting attendance in my eyes.

We need to get used to playing on Friday & Saturday when we go up . as Sunday 3pm games will be very few a far beetween . I for one won't be complaining when we are playing on a nice Saturday afternoon in the south of France.

Player welfare would seem to be one point not considered seriously, two of the toughest games in the programme, Featherstone Away and London in the Cup - and only four days in between.........if anyone else has made a similar point, sorry.

I was merely making the point that the Friday may be good for our players' welfare between the London and Whitehaven games, but maybe not quite so good between the Featherstone and London games.

Perhaps it may have been best just to say that the decision was taken so that the lads could have a well-earned weekend off with their families? None of us would begrudge them that.

There are more than 5 days between the end of the Fev game and start of the Broncos game.

Fwiw I personally prefer Sunday games.

Not sure promotion will make that big a difference to our home games, Sky only ever seem to show Saints, Leeds or w!g@n every week. so don't think they'll be desperate to show newly promoted Leigh every other game. Stick with our Sundays, Sunday is rugby day.

Look at how many games are being shifted because of being on TV the following week.

Not a great fan of Friday nights myself but I can see this being a reward for the lads, and could have even been an incentive, win the first 5 and if we get a home draw we'll opt for Friday, win that and you can have a weekend off.

Personally I'm hoping we have a right old tilt at the Challenge Cup this season.
Whilst we have been playing well in the league we still need to build our clubs profile up so anything that can help us achieve that will be a bonus.
With a big squad of full time players to keep happy it will also help keep the camp morale sky high although PR has rotated the squad well thus far and we do look fresh in each game.
Really don't know what to expect of London and no idea what team will turn up but I'm certain PR won't underestimate an ex SL team.
Going for a Leigh win 44-16 and hoping we get another home tie in the next round.

Be interesting to see the team, normally likes to give a few fringe players a run out in the early rounds of the Challenge Cup but against a big Championship team we can't underestimate them, though on the other hand we do have such strength in depth so maybe giving some players a chance to prove themselves which could result in a bigger score line than last time.

I imagine Walker and Spencer will play, as for other fringe players, maybe Reynolds would get a run out. Would be good to see how he goes in the first team against full time opposition.

Unfortunately circumstances will not allow me to attend ,however I will be able to watch the match the following day on the magnificent Centurions T.V. so it could be a bloody sight worse I suppose

I don't think at the time we realised how much of an affect the performance against Leeds would have,we really put down a marker with that performance and it was constantly talked about,on boots n all the other night after the interview with PR they referred to the game again.

Fans,players,agents,coaches and commentators took notice that night,and i reckon its part of the reason we have attracted the players we have,and it started the snowball effect of getting fans back through the turnstiles,and to think,some panic merchants wanted to send the reserves up there!

If we get a bit of luck in the draw, then we really could go on a big run,Look at our team,some top class young talent who are getting better with each season,chuck in the world class FFMM and Hock with the proven quality we already have then i would fancy going toe to toe with anyone!.

Getting to super league is the priority,everyone knows that,but i don't buy this its a distraction theory,lets go to win every game.

Announced our (London) squad today. Only have 19 players fit so pretty much picks itself!!

Looking at your squad of 19 it looks like it could be a difficult night for the Broncos, good luck anyway.

To be honest I think we could do without this game. We need to be focusing everything on the league right now and the last thing we need is a) a beating by you lot b) more injuries. Only good thing I can see is the chance for some younger guys to get some experience (Walker is one to watch) and we can work on a few things/partnerships (Thomas and Keyes are a good young pair but both v inexperienced).

Shame that no where has any challenge cup games on as this might of had a chance of being shown.
