I wouldn't wish a serious injury on anyone but things just don't add up, if he had a suspected fractured skull then there's a good chance this would have been picked up on by the doctors yet it must have been a good 20 minutes before he was 'rushed' to hospital and on the bench he actually looked pretty keen to get back out there.

It's like Chinese whispers and I think we should all wait and see before judging, manning isn't a dirty player but the tackle deserved a red card but it wasn't from behind like someone has said and someone else said they saw the tackle then goes on to say they didn't sent the bloke who made it off.

From my view point it was very very late but looked like a shove to the chest so I was quite surprised with all this coming out but I'm holding judgment till I see the replay.

I'm also seeing a lot about Fax's tactics but they were not dissimilar to Leigh's in the first game if everyone is honest.

Even our resident 'Bill Arrogant' will struggle to defend the indefensible.

Greg I love you pal but cowardice is not something RL should tolerate, it's a tough game and cheap shot opportunities are countless tonight that seemed your gameplan and your team should have beaten us at RL not needing the feathers

No the tactics were similar but the severity at the way they were carried out were miles apart. You can't say that rubbing your head in some ones face in the wrestle is equal to trying to severely injure a player can you? On any other day you should have been down to ten players. You can call Karl Harrison a bad coach and sending a side out to do that is a sign of a very stupid coach but Fax played some very good rugby tonight. Who coached them to do that then?

Sam was rushed to hospital - I say rushed as it was a blue light and sirens job - after being taken from the field of play his condition deteriorated and the match Doctor ordered an Ambulance, on assesment by Drs and Paramedics it was decided to take him to Salfords Hope Hospital and the head trauma unit was put on alert for the ambulances arrival.
My own review of the incident I shall not comment on but as an ex police officer of 24yrs service if I had witnesses that out side of a Rugby Field Manning would have been arrested.
As for the Police reviewing the video at this stage nobody has asked me to view anything and it is my footage the RFL discipline panel will make their initial decisions on, a copy of which I will upload to the Championship review video website as soon as it is rendered into the right format.
As for the so called argument put forward on here re Leighs tactics at Halifax there was no one injured enough to attend hospital on that night and two wrongs do not make a right.
No 'Chinese whispers' there just straight facts, I wont repeat the comment made to me from a member of the Halifaxs coaching staff re Manning's previous conduct, but some Fax fans may well have to take their blue tinted glasses off if they had heard them.

Paul Rowley said he was being rushed to Hospital unconscious with a suspected broken skull; Liam Kay tweeted the scans are clear & he's being kept in for observation. Really hope he's alright, been a fantastic player for us.

Halifax were disgraceful, I lost count of the number of times Barlow (and others) ended up on the floor in back play, taken out late or simply off the ball. It was obvious Halifax came simply to try to hurt people tonight. Karl Halifax RL should face some sort of disciplinary action for "playing" that way and Chris Leatherbarrow should be suspended from professional refereeing for a while for letting a game get so out of hand.

Leigh's tactics at Fax were entirely different, Fax's backs were tearing us apart so we sent on a big pack to (legally) rough it up a bit and make it more of a physical contest, it worked. Fax just came to try to hurt people, get people sent off and tier out Leigh, fortunately that plan didn't work.

Sorry Greg but what you describe (if indeed that is how it rolled out) is very much in line with some skull fractures. I can talk from direct family experience when my son fell backwards off playground apparatus and hit the back of his head on the ground. When first looked at by a doctor, almost immediately after, he was thought to have a slight concussion but he quickly began to deteriorate and quickly ended up in trauma with a basal skull fracture. He made a full, if slow recovery, but my point is, what you describe is exactly what a skull fracture can look like. Sorry Greg but it adds up perfectly to me.

To Sam, I hope you get good news and we see you back on the field very soon. You are a fan favorite, one of my favorites, and a key spark in our team. Get well soon Sam.

Our team has now been involved in three major brawls this season - Halifax twice, and Featherstone away. I believe the referee in all three games was the same one.

Now, obviously, refs don't start, or participate in, brawls! However, they should know how to handle players, to prevent this sort of thing escalating. Compare these three episodes with the two of our games Ben Thaler has officiated at this season - Featherstone, (at home) and Leeds last week. Just one flare up in 160 minutes, and that was dealt with swiftly and correctly, without any further trouble.

Highlights, not done them yet only got my head down at 3am, as I had to sort the coaching staffs memory stick out and do the RFL decoding and uploading, just started the main game uploading and now going back to bed for an hour or three as the computer is busy re above, will do the highlights hopefully later this morning and upload them Im estimating they will be ready around noon to 1pm.
I apologise for there being no pre game Interviews but I didn't have time to film them this week, as for the post match stuff Paul was a little busy and anxious for his players welfare so I didn't bother him.

I quoted exactly what Paul stated in the main room after the game, as does Lowton Sparrow if you read what he wrote. Paul obviously thought it was worse then it was, he was not best please at all.
So no it wasn't me wanting to be the first with speculation at all and as soon as I saw Liam Kay s tweet I also posted the "good news" so there put that in your pipe and all that

The actual term from the coach was "[ususpected [/uskull fracture", there is a difference.
