Funny this topic is up as i was in Leigh yesterday geting a fitting for a friends wedding, not been to leigh for a long while, even longer when i've been in the day. Had a Greenhaulghs Potato and meat pie, god i've missed them, you don't get anything like that down south.

I always liked Sargents meat pies,10 years ago you coud n`t beat Claphams meat pies........I `ll have to call off at dinner today to Sargents for a couple of delicious pies ..... and then discard the crust.......

I used to love nookies pie shop years ago me dad used to always take us there, its changed hands so many times in recent years though.

Howy, at last someone who remembers them - they were awesome. If i remember correctly they were about as round as a Dawsons but about half as deep. They had a special taste (tangy onion?). About once a fortnight we would use our spending money to go for one instead of buying a Mars or a Bounty lol.
