With the signings that you have made, you should easily get promoted straight back next season. This however will still only give you one season to satisfy the SL franchise criteria if you wish to make an application for the following seasons. Good Luck.

i feel very sad for you guys (and gals) today - you will bounce back. It is wrong that you have been relegated despite finishing above Toulouse, but as everybody is saying, rules are rules ( well that's what we were told when we were relegated for catalans).

I also seem to remember our late ex chairman claiming that tricky Dicky Lewis threatened to resign when SL clubs challenged him over Harlequins been deducted points for going into administration - Lewis later denied this.

Sadly, everybody is realising now that this is what happens when you sell the game to someone like SKY. They are the paymasters and you cant bite the hand that feeds.

Relegated yes have to look at winning league and winning cup now,next season its not impossible ,Sat next to Cullen in stand heard him saying could do with Leigh staying up ,him and his cronies defo looked concerned we've dropped hence no big gates next season ,going to bite championship in ass this can only blame it on the structure of how the rugby league want the game to be played ,development is the key yeah right how many fans followed Toulouse over? none i recall, that is development ,Crap!

Hate it that a club as steeped in history as Leigh are to be relegated, but unfortunately the rules are rules. I am sure the club will bounce back and we all have to accept that this time round Leigh were not good enough.

I was told exactly the same thing by our ex-Chairman at the time. That would explain why Widnes abstained. It left our Chairman between a rock and a hard place but he had to vote in Leigh's best interest.

You're right, and if there wasn't a bonus point system then there would be no complaints from me.

But there is a Bonus Point system and it's played by ALL the teams in the division. The 'exempt from relegation system' however, is only played by one team in this division.

Agree with you Paul, the points system is irrelevant everyone's sining from the same hymn sheet, it's the fact that if a team isn't good enough then they shouldn't play in the league not be told they can't get relegated

Somewhat bizarrely, the quota rules are, of course, different in Championship 1. Whereas teams in the Championship are only allowed one quota player - to protect them from over-spending - the super-affluent teams in Championship One, are allowed two quota players. So, there you are, we're going to be allowed double rations on quota players - if we can get any visas, that is!

Do you not think though that the level playing field that some of us want could be achieved and actually take some flack away from RFL by firstly having no quota at all at this level. Its getting to be near impossible to get the Aussies in anyway.
Also the salary cap is not working as it should when clubs like ourselves can have higher level than rest in the same league - so get shut of that too - apart from being able to prove you can afford.
The only other issue is teams having the 3 years without relegation and others not. So start to have some kind of franchise system for our comp.

I so agree with you. I've been campaigning for years, in the programme and on here, for EQUALITY, for all teams. I too, think it will be a farce, if we are allowed to spend more on the Cap, than others - if the RFL sanctions it! Why bother having a cap, and then saying, 'Well, teams A, B and CC (sorry, slip of the finger, there!
