| All ' Blame ' is just wasted energy, the only issue is how to change the future, and you start that by looking at the past and not being too arrogant to think that you are any better a businessman than the previous administration, if you do the same things, the results will be the same

| There is one thing I'll say about Keith Freer; we now have a better relationship with the RFL than we've ever had before. I remember a time not too long ago when we were the laughing stock of RL and they thought of us as a highly unprofessional outfit. Keith changed all of that and we now have a great relationship with them.

Well this a positive which can be built on going forwards hopefully by a new BOD.

I agree Steve its not about blaming anyone or anything from the past its about learning from it cutting away from it and hopefully if the financies are not to bad and if given the shareholders and current directors support maybe a take over and new begining with a new ragime can happen.

I agree, Michelle, although Trevor also played a big part in the building of those particular bridges. One thing's for sure, whatever our feelings towards the RFL, we have to have them 'with' us, rather than 'against' us.

| Quote ="Dick Jones"Why look for blame, let's concentrate on a solutions to the mess were. In , I think the existing shareholders could donate the shares to Lisa and we then have a part fan owned club, with a member on the board and same with the touch down club, we need one of them on board too.
We already have the two setups for fans to payin to, we don't need to complicate it by setting up any more, just need a statement from the club asking for help public ally .
As starbug has aked why hasn't a shareholders meeting been held, surely it is needed before any new investors come in . Ask at for them to donate the shares to LISA instead of giving them up, at the same time do a new share issues for new investors to purchase. If all of them donated their shares the majority shareholding would be the fans.'"
Linda
Brief outline of my personal vision for you and indeed anyone else who cares to read it:
5 or 6 NEW BUISNESSMEN (with no connection of old to SCL LTD) would form a new BOD and agree to pay into the club a set fee of xxxx £pa for a minimum term of 3/5years.
This would be on agreement that all the current 11no shareholders hand back shares and current active directors either agree to stay with the new BOD on the same basis as the new guys i.e putting the same amount of cash in on the same terms while writing off any Directors Loans etc to help the club move forward. My personal preference is for a complete new team so to speak so the fans will see a complete new begining with no cross overs/ links to past and a new start and hopefully buy in to the vision.
The shares would need to be held in trust in some way to be distributed via whatever means following strategic planning and a vote (My personal preference is for shares to go to LISA/TDC a percentage year on year for thier continued and hopefully increased investment and then new shares raised and sold to fans or sold as part of VIP/ Membership packages/ schemes or something like that).
LISA would then acumulate shares as part of a long term transparent buisness plan and stratergy and should in theory grow pro rata with the club. It will then have a true voting right and voice for its members going forward. Same with the TDC.
The gaurenteed New Revenue/Income (if budgeted and managed professionally and correctly as it would be) from:
A. The New BOD
B. Share Revenue
C. Media,Sales and Marketing investment and drives
Coupled with the fan and community support of a new BOD of expierienced and very commercial astute people should give us a real stable platform to put a long term development structure in place with each director having a specific role and given a focus for example:
Sales Director - Rev v Income by stream/Explain variances/Opportunities/Strategies/Achievement of New Business wins/Lost customers
Operations Director - costs v budgets/explain variances/opportunities/legals/match day experience
Finance Director - cash flow projections/bad debt
Playing front - squad update/strengthening
Media- Leighlife/CTV/Programme/National Press/ Social Media
Community/ Youth- Closing old wounds and building bridges. Working hand in hand with East/Miners and other community teams/Local Schools/ Steve Pike and other lapsed people with great ideas to get the next generation of kids in the stadium but more importantly with Leigh Centurions in the blood.
Each of the Directors above can provide guideance and assistance and more importantly the finance to help the great people like Fred and Dave P, Mish, Alan and so on with management/motivation/communication to all the volunteers in thier specific areas.
Just a brief outline of what i see as the right way and the future.
With the right investors and the shareholders and old directors playing ball (and ofcouse subject to current debt levels being manageable and the company being solvent then this can happen and to those who have said put up or shut up..............I WILL PUT UP DONT WORRY ABOUT THAT and others who will back me already in line.
Ideas/ Feedback welcome feel free to contact me as always.

I presume from those initial comments you do not expect Linda to represent LISA on the board, what with her connections and all that

Id fully expect Linda to respresent LISA when was she ever a Director of SCL???
I personally would like someone with Lindas passion for the club to have a real strong input with a BOD.

Fair do's if that is what you meant - but you get the drift of the question.
And good luck with all that you are aiming to do, hope all goes well for the good of the club. Time to see if all the people who can talk the talk can walk the walk.

| Those sound like a good business plan, just hope we can all pull together to move forward and out of the mess we are in.
LISA currently have been attending board meetings etc for the last twelve months and have been given upmost respect by Trevor and the current board in allowing our input in meetings.

I understand you question, by new start i mean at the top table i.e Directors and Investors. Everyone else in the organsiation paid or volenteers are crucial to future success and that includes external organisations like Linda (LISA) and Steve and Alan (TDC).
If all these current people the likes of Linda/ TDC/ Fred/ Dave P/ Alan/Misc etc are given a BOD to fully support/ advise them and most importantly help fund great ideas and inititives they can go on to be even greater IMO and form a real backbone of a communications structure.
We need more drums to bang, bigger drums to bang and more people to bang them we need to be heard and seen.

And its right that you (LISA) do so you are the voice of the people that really matter. Same goes with the TDC lads two fantastic blokes Alan and Steve.
As ive said i will support whoever goes forward but it cant be a quick fix painting over cracks solution for me to fully commit and put money into as i dont do things by halves.

| Correct me if i am wrong but don't the TDC have enough business people in their club to form a new BOD when you look at the list of members their seems no shortage of big name company's to set up a new board
Agree a sum of money from each member say ..K over the next 3yr
Or like you say lets scrap the old shares have a new share issue open to the public their is no harm in feeling the water with this idea if we cant get enough people interested we cancel the share issue
But if we did get enough people willing to sighn up to the share issue they could then vote in a new BOD

One of the old recuring mistakes unfortunatley approaching the same people for more.
New people with new money that doesnt effect the money that already comes in is what is required.
When/ if something starts to happen the fans and everyone need to be ready and ready to get behind it in a big way.
Dont keep attacking the same income streams look for new ones.
Also you cant just scrap shares or force anyone to give them up unfortunatley.

| The single biggest area holding the club back is income, sales.
When we overcome the current challenge it is vital we maximise every opportunity to draw cash into our club, fan ownership is an area I am very passionate about and making it accessible to the average fan is crucial IMO - inclusive not exclusive will allow our club to at last start the journey to be the best we can be

Neil
This is true but to overcome the lack of income and generate the sales requires long term thinking IMO.
Hap hazard Short term thinking often means we often find ourselves being reactive hence chasing the lost 300.
Long term is the key considered and deliberate approaches with planned growth is what we need.
Simply looking short term finding buisnessmen to bail us out or chasing same old people for cash is not the way.
Put a structure in place budget it correctly and build it year on year. Balls out chasing a SL pipe dream is proven not to be the way to succeed.

Income streams will be old and new, our opportunities are the new ones but we should never ignore the established ones.
Low hanging fruit is easy to pick, but that does not mean the top branch can never be reached for all the tree should be our goal.

100% agree spoken like a true sales professional.
I am a Critic of the low hanging fruit business model. Orchard workers routinely begin picking at the highest point of a tree, where the fruit has been exposed to the most sunlight and is usually the ripest. It makes sense to pick the low hanging fruit last, since it requires more time to ripen, it also makes sense to avoid focussing on the easiest options if a little more effort and time would result in a much better payoff IMO.

That is completely correct.
Apple target the most profitable section of customers first, with market saturation a secondary concern. They make most of the profits in all the industry areas where they seriously compete. We need to take that approach, without undermining what we already have.
