Not very? If people are willing to work then they have as much right as anybody to have a job, regardless of nationality. If foreign workers are being chosen ahead of English ones then there are reasons for that, reasons that aren't the fault of said foreign worker.

Probably because they'll work for peanuts and then claim benefits for the rest of their clan that followed them over here who do sod all all day.

I know I have said this before but between 2006 to 2008 the only people who would take jobs (4x12 hour shifts pw at min wage+€1/hr) in my food processing plant in Ireland were Polish. They worked really hard, would stay behind to finish jobs and hardly had a day off sick.

They most certainly did not claim benefits unlike the local lads who were better off on the dole and would turn up for their "enforced" jobseekers interview and want the plant manager to turn them down!

But then again that doesn't fit the current political agenda does it...........

I dont begrudge jobs for people , problem is how many jobs get lost when Sainsburys shuts , Big out of town complexes and supermarkets have destroyed our town centres

For every new job created in retail , another is lost , not saying what the answer is as I dont know

Hang on a minute, your previous post suggested that you had a problem with foreign workers 'taking' jobs ahead of domestic workers, yet now it's a question of said foreign workers being poorly paid?

If people want a job, then they can get one if they look hard enough. Unfortunately, this country has a "don't want" culture where some people are awfully picky about which jobs they want, and which jobs they don't. I don't doubt that there are thousands of immigrants who are attracted to this country because of the benefits afforded to it's citizens (something I think we should be proud of, to be honest), but there are also thousands of people in this country who are more than happy to do nowt and wait for the benefits to roll in.

According to reports in the papers today the government are going to be giving out laptops and mobile s for those on job seekers allowances so they can be access the internet and recieve texts on the jobs that are available

A minimum wage job based on 40 hours per week equals an annual salary of £12k a year. Not great but for generally unskilled work, plus tax credits if you have kids etc, it's better than sponging off the state, if you have a bit of pride in you of course.

If our bone idle layabouts can't be d getting off their backsides to work for that then they cant complain when Petr Polak does.

The next generation of local scroungers is currently being trundled round Leigh in buggies by their bone idle parents and grandparents.

Same here. I like to have a degree of pride in my home town....so much so that I avoid the place as I every time I go, it seems to have dropped a notch.
