Does it matter about the capacity? , are they ever going to fill it?

It is apparently 12,000 , but I'd suggest more like 10,000 , around 4,500 on tonight

I think we have seen this years SL wooden spoon contenders on TV this weekend

The break even figure at Salford this year is 7000. Me thinks they could be in trouble financially very quickly if they keep attracting measily crowd figures like that.

If their application says its 12,000 but when on TV its only say 11,200, then it should matter.

Not good considering there were around a third of those from Cas tonight, so they are getting a 1,000 more home fans in SL than we currently are getting in the Championship

Where were they all? There didn't look to be that many on from what I saw on TV

Wasn't the main camera's in the main stand, like Fred does at LSV.

Yes but if you watched the behind sticks camera, the main stand wasn' t that full either, I'd say 1,500 from Cas, 1,200 in the new shed, 3,4 hundred in the east, and 2,000 ish in the main stand

They have a hell of a lot of work to do to make this work

The difference was probably the corporates that stayed in the warm rather then come out in the cold to watch the match

I'm affraid that Salford (whatever they call it) stadium are going to have to learn the hard way. They could start by scrapping the £5 carpark charge for parking on a building site. Mud and all. Joke and I feel for Reds fans.

Well agree about the parking charge but what puts me off is the length of time I would have to stand around waiting for a ticket which is why I did not go tonight.

I also think we need cash turnstyles at the LSV for the same reason despite the fact I always get a season ticket and the reason is we would get more people attending.

I can't think off the top of my head (and a beer or two

) any form of entertainment that you can go to these days and don't have to buy a ticket first.

Surely people are used to buying tickets by now

Not many I should imagine

but it takes me about an hour to get to the LSV and 45 minutes to Salford's new home and then' to expect people who live near Salford Central Station to travel would mean I would have to spend another 45 minutes waiting for a ticket on a match day.No thanks.

I have to agree with Frank about the ticket office there. But we had problems at first and I'm sure that just like we have had to endure these problems they will be addressed in time, just like ours have. That stadium needs another access road to it also. There is one I think that comes from the other side of the motorway by the sewage plant this side of the ship cannal. Get it extended sharpish.

Remember Leigh's first game in SL? Not many on that night against Huddersfield. And we have rather too many empty plastic seats in a shiny new stadium than we would like. So let's wish Salford well and see how they go.

Last night's game reminded me very much of our SL opener against Huddersfield. Everything that could go wrong, did.

I wish them luck but a great stadium with an average team I'm afraid.
