I was somewhat surprised that we were linked with Andy, given that he has played most of his rugby, 'at the top'. It would be doubly surprising, and something of a waste to see him in C1.

well i think this move if confirmed speaks volumes for this guys attitude if he would rather play in a lesser league for a few extra quid, then barrow are welcome to him. e only want players who want to play for leigh, and this from a hometown player.

Andy has owned a house in Barrow for almost 3 years and has a young family, so I think that speaks far more than anything.

I am talking about Andy Bracek. He lives about 2 minutes away from Craven Park.

It is Andy Ballard who lives out of town (he lives in Wigan) and to-date is the only player signed for 2012 (out of 17) who isn't a local and will have to travel to training etc.

Fair enough, his agent must have agreed terms with us then, before you guys improved the offer.

Probably not an improved offer but with taking the travelling into account from Barrow to Leigh for matches and training less money at Barrow is a net gain for him ?

As previously stated he now lives in Barrow, so it would be financially beneficial to him to sign for Barrow than have to travel to/from Leigh 3/4 times a week

The fact that Andys agent was discussing terms with us tells us that he was/is interested in playing for his home town team , hopefully at some point he might get the opportunity to do that , until then , good luck in wherever you play , unless of course you are playing Leigh

Been speaking to Andi over on Twitter, he only lives 5 Minutes from Craven Park, so it does make sense him signing for them.

I hope he gets picked up by a SL club next season, he worked effortlessly for the Welsh and deserves a full-time pro contract I feel.
