Well said, some Leigh fans need to understand that professional Rugby League has moved on and is now a family orientated entertainment business not some 1970's football/soccer tribal movement that is only interested in getting one over the opposition "firm" after the match.

BIGGEST home game for ages, and some folk on here are getting quite upset about deleted posts/freedom of speech etc.
This is pathetic. The only thing I CARE about, is when 2 minutes before KO, our team trots out onto the pitch.
Seems like some 'supporters' on here, have other priorities. (you know who you are)

Who cares ? Leigh on Sunday for a fab afternoons entertainment. AND IT'S CHEAPER than sitting in the pub for two hours watching footie waiting for something to happen which rarely does and supping and going out for a cig every 15 minutes.

Well said Jacko , I personally love the Flute Song , though I admit I never sing it at games ,as most know I have many Wigan relatives , and when we have a Family do in Leigh we always play it then , it even makes the Wiganers laugh .I never get involved with Religion or Politics and respect everyones views on these subjects ,but feel there is nothing offensive in the Flute Song .Its like the music "Entrance of the Gladiators ", a Leyther heritage , I would love to see that played .

Unfortunately for the majority the minority have far too much time on their hands for me

Absolutely spot on ! To be honest it really is just a silly song with no real offence intended but for the club to officially print it on a song sheet leaflet was cringe worthy at best, unprofessional at worse. Just think if Blake Solly had picked up a disregarded one after the match to take back to show Red Hall? It would have undone some of the brilliant work that this club's BOD are striving towards IMO. Thankfully the correct decision was eventually taken.

In terms of moderation, and I never got the chance to read the views of our supporters on this as I would have liked to have done, it is my belief that the mods on here are not only over zealous in their commitment to enforce a strict policy, but they really do struggle with the term ' An UNOFFICIAL and INDEPENDENT Leigh RLFC fans forum'

It is a reason why this Leigh forum is no longer as vibrant as it once was and why anyone in our group of supporters very rarely bother visiting it any more.

As an aside, I've been moderating this forum and it's Rivals.net predecessor in the same manner for the past 13-14 years. The criac might be better on here if people spent less of their time moaning about everything. But then I'm sure we must be deleting all the fun stuff - but maybe not, because we'd then have hundreds of threads complaining.

A mod deleting an [iunofficial[/i fans forum thread that was supposedly (I say supposedly as I am unable to view it) discussing what was an official press release by Leigh Centurions is strict and in all honesty pathetic moderating. Spin it anyway you want Michael.

I know some that have stopped posting on here or cut down on their posts (myself included) and its nothing to do with the mods (imo they do a good job). its because of the forum becomming more like an english lesson or hijacked topics etc

I must have missed something that has gone on because im not sure what has been removed or changed .Not as im bothered , you can never please everyone , but to say you don't post as much because of highjacked topics is a mystery

most topics have a post or 2 that go off topic its just nature and individual humour .

We are all entitled to our opinions which is why this is an Independent Forum , I enjoy the Diverse topics some post , and agree we can all post tripe , as I do , I think the Mods do a great job , nowt or nobody will ever put me off posting on here .

Anyway lets get back to the thing that matters most Leigh Rugby , hopefully a great game , big crowd and a Leythers WIN , a Happy BOM , and set of Fans , and then a good home draw on Monday to please Mo .If we achieve them all I will buy you a Bacon Buttie , cooked in Lard .
