No. He played his junior rugby at Burtonwood and finished there at U16s I think and then he went to Warrington and played in their academy.

Quality player although dont expect miracles as the kid was only 18 in pre season. Still, a step above from any youngster who's been in the dual reg system.
His brother was spoke of as highly but suffered a very serious injury a couple of months back. He wont play again for a year

I hope we have sent a press release to all the nationals about this - the lad made a big name for himself at the start of the season and must be worth a couple of paragraphs, which would hopefully in turn generate a bit more interest from the casual fan who won't know about this news unless they read the message board or official site.

Great signing IF we see a lot of him. However, that is a big if especially how we havent seen blythe all season, no disrespect to blythe i am a big fan, but evans has so much more quality and loads more potential IMO which must mean he has a great chance of being in the wire team more regularly or being snapped up by other SL clubs

well it should put a few on the gate for Friday to see if and how he plays...anything creates a bit of a buzz is fine by me, even if he only plays a few matches...

A press release has been sent to every person/organisation on the oficial RLF list plus a few others who are not, TBH everything that appears on the website goes to the same lists.

If both armstrong and evans are available at the same time who would we go with? We can't drop nanyn in the form he's in and Armstrong has been quality so far. Evans will have to impress to get ahead of armstrong IMO. Feel sorry for Higson though, hopefully his chance to impress again will still come this year.

Just seen the article were Millward says Higson is back in the squad which is great news.

I'd have to go for Armstrong on the basis that he's more likely to be available for much more of the season than Evans, though if Evans is a hit then it will be hard to drop him (if we have the choice to do so) when Armstrong regains fitness.

you can't afford to have a bad game playing for the centurions at the moment!!

No point in getting someone like Rhys Evans and putting him on the bench or watching in the stand...Armstrong is also a DR so I wouldn't worry about his nose getting bent out of shape too much...

Doubt Basil would drop Armstrong if he was available. I also think he would play Rhys if available too.

Thats why coaches(one club notwithstanding) will gladly let our club have them albeit when it suits them.

Now regarding the other club the last 4 of their home games I have attended they have lost but despite that I would never contemplate buying one of their season tickets.

Maybe Basil wants to play Higson in the second row, whilst were missing Mitchell and McCarthy?

theres just one thing worrying me about all this changing of the dual reg players.when it comes to play off time how many if any will have played in enough games to qualify to play in the play offs.it was a certain percent of games they had to play last year or has that changed this year.
the duals we have had this year have been great,rhys will be a top player and hope he enjoys his stint with us.
