But its not just Leigh though is it ,its all clubs bar Widnes,and as for giving us a reprieve they couldn't do anything else but after what happened .

Wigan had a pretty good 16's last season and a very good 15's who only last a game narrowly against saints! And they will have an even stronger 16's and 15's this coming year! Think there was 3 players from leigh area at Wigan last year and maybe just 2 this year (over both ages). So very much doubt ther is any chance of any sharing going on! Plus it's far healthier for Leigh in the long run to have their own! Plus what of all the coaches etc? Think Wigan would have any from Leigh on board?? Errrmmm nope! Chris radlinsky is over theirs!

So what for the coaches too? They are all just by the wayside too' not sure if theyyre all volunteers or on staff? But that's others hard work down the drain too!

The big question is, Why? All this thread has been mostly about is having another pop at RFL, and for what? We don't know reasons. This can be said about rest of clubs.
As for the repreive, they could have relegated us as the rules dictated at beginning of the season. Gateshead enabled RFL to do the sensible thing by allowing us to stay up. But a meeting at the RFL determined which league we played. If RFL are so against us as the Paranoia opinions on todays threads say, why didn't they take us out of the picture at that point ? Because its crazy to do so. Just like the club not being able to invest money in the community. Which tells me there is more to it.

I dont think they are against us in particular ,probably the area we are in .I really can't see where they are coming from i'm very despondent at the way they run this game .

some people who believe everything coming out of Red Hall s for the good of everyone in the game had better start to wake up and do it fast, I agree with Mr C but the trouble with that is that come the next round of 'good ideas' from Red Hall then all that be wasted, as it was once seen as a good idea that clubs had their own youth teams and structure.

) have just established a draft constitution (awaiting approval/amendment from its members), the next stage will be to put organisational structures etc in place. This was already being done regardless of what the RFL is up to, but we would welcome any suggestions, ideas or input from yourself, or any other interested party. Gateshead had absolutely no choice other than to do the decent thing and if the RFL had let us slip into the C1 there would have been a massive outcry not just from Leigh but the whole of RL. The RFL cannot keep changing the rules to suit their plans. Plans that it is very plain to see do not involve the Champonship clubs futures.

Why are you sticking up for that shower of lying, incompetant to55ers, We was told this by our chairman and coach at the LISA meeting and knowing Arthur well, he does not lie and as been invovled with two other SL teams, so he knows what he talking about.
He also didn't just say it was LEIGH he said all of us except WIDNES.
I felt people should know what a set of bent barstewards all of the RFL are.

Basically with this and the other little criteria changes they sneaked in recently, they are in effect saying we want Widnes and then foreign clubs from now on,Leigh, Barrow, Fax, Batley and Fev, in fact of of you can forget about it as if you do make 2500 avage crowds we'll change it to 4000, if you turn over 1 million we'll change it to 2 million, and if you do ,manage these, we'll still turn you down, as you've no youth developement

Is there anything 'official' out there, about scholarships and the Championship clubs. At the moment, everything appears to be based on what Arthur said at the LISA meeting. I'm not for a moment disputing what he said, but what else has the RFL said, on the subject? Keith seems to be putting an interesting, & logical spin on it and none of the other Championship clubs seem to have picked up on this - other than from our site.

No-one want's to stick up for the RFL... but at the moment the story that we have is Ian Millward and Arthur Rowley stated at a meeting that you attended last night that the RFL have forbidden all teams outside of SL with the exception of Widnes from running a scholarship side...

What happened when someone asked them WHY???
Because someone presumably asked them why... unless we are led to believe the RFL contacted your club said it was no to the scholarship and then just rang off and the two people above decided they had all the information they needed.

Lynda, where am I defending the RFL? The threads on here become way over the top before knowing the reasons, or the facts from both sides.
It cannot always be the RFLs fault - which it seems to be on here all the time. Thats all I am doing here, pointing this out. We all know its near impossible for Leigh to get into SL - and there are many reasons like RFL would prefer a team outside the heartlands for example, but we as a town do not support the club in enough numbers, and we are not successful on the pitch etc etc. We have loads of work to do, but we certainly don't make it a difficult choice for them at the moment.
On here if RFL created world peace and ended world hunger they would still be slagged off for one reason or another.

The main reason for all this gripe towards the RFL is the fact they keep moving those damned goal posts just to suit them now you can't argue with that surely .

The RFL would do a good job of ending world peace and creating world hunger if you gave them the chance.
Sorry - I wouldn't trust the RFL as far as I could throw them..and with big Nige that wouldnt be far at all..

Maybe there has been no RL council meeting since the club was informed of this so no one has asked them WHY???? infact there is no maybe about it we were informed when we told the rfl about our plans, so you presume wrongly at this stage no one has asked them why because the opportunity has not yet arisen.
And who is Arthur Rowley? as Arthur Thomas our chairman attended the meeting not ALLAN ROWLEY.

The point still stands... When Arthur Thomas was speaking to this select few last night... was he not asked why Leigh were not being allowed to run a scholarship?
If he simply did not know why then why didn't he ask the question when he was being informed? Surely it would have been the first thing to come out of his mouth.

I doubt the RFL would have made such a decision without having thought out some reasons that they could give for having made this decision.

The RFL didn't give us a reprieve because they thought we added value to the division. We got the reprieve because another club went pear shaped and effectively took our relegation spot. Batley would've got the same reprieve. (If you look at the football, its something RMI benefitted from for a few years in the conference).

The cynic in me suggests that the is more to it, in which the bigger picture is for the Championship to become like an equivalent of the Aussie's Premier League (think that's what its called). I.e. a 2nd grade feeder club. Dual registrations was the start of it.

RFL - think? Whats that, think for the good of the game, or think for the greedy selfish SL clubs. At the end of the day the RFL are no longer there for all there member clubs, they are ruled over by the SL clubs, they do not rule the SL clubs.

i was on the leigh scholarship system and just recieved a text confirming this.

So the RFL have made a decision on your Scholarship scheme and no-one from last night or possibly from your club thought fit to ask why?

ATEOTD the sl clubs cannot bring through enough juniors for the future development of our game. Still at least the championship clubs can't now be blamed for that.........or can they
