I still think this is a poisoned chalice, we're like a plug in a bath tub, the most suitable at the moment in this time of no supporters and no international travel that will comfortably take the relegation spot when everything shakes out and then we can build for 2023.

I would have much preferred to be in the Championship next season and take it from where we left off after this aborted season and may the best team win.

I don't think I need to state that I don't want us to either get spanked all the time nor be relegated at the end of 2021 (I think we'll be fairly competitive), I'm just generally uneasy about all of these shenanigans, I'm almost conspiratorial in that we are being set up to fail, to which extent I hope we prove them wrong.

To survive will take a lot of wallet. We’ll see how that pans out.

There has been a lot of chat, both here and on the VT, about "the poisoned chalice" and Bongser is still undecided. Was it pre-emptive sour grapes that made him subscribe to that view? Rejoiced when seeing the announcement, so maybe so.

Reminded of a scene near to the end of "Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade" wherein the nasty Nazi "chose poorly/badly(?)" and was promptly "calcined to dust" (to tweak a line from George Herbert).

DB, at least with munificence, is Leigh's biggest supporter. He wanted SL and may know "Sammut" we don't so am raising a glass with him tonight.

As Charlie would say, "In Derek we trust". Hopefully "he chose.....wisely."

After that move Derek could be that fast prop of legends old.
As I’ve stated before I’m a glass half full kind of guy, so I have to believe that this chalice is full of fine wine. Watching that room erupt tells me that Derek and the team really wanted this and believe it’s doable.
It will be a tough task but i will be behind our club all the way.
One thing is for sure, being a fan of our Comics is always entertaining.

Streaming matches and limited attendances will only go so far.

A lot of wallet indeed, hopefully arms won't get shorter as pockets get deeper.

TBF Deeeekos, our SL application would've exposed this if we wasn't secure in any possible financial eventualities due to the Kung Flu.

Deeks, take a watch of the interview with Mike Latham on LCTV if you can. He explains that the club is in the best financial situation since it’s inception (and he is the ultimate numbers guy so should know) and that the proposal broke down every financial aspect of the club. It also included financial projections for upcoming scenarios, including playing every SL game behind closed doors this coming season. That scenario showed that we can do that and still be in the black at season end.

We can only do our bit, so whoever can should buy a season ticket, join the lottery and or Lisa, buy a shirt etc

And if we are allowed to attend and you can't afford a season ticket then remember its more important to buy a ticket to attend Leigh v Say Huddersfield at LSV than Wigan away.

We may need to keep some money in DB's pocket to bolster the squad.......................................in preparation for the grand final
