It matters most of having a squad to put out in whatever division,at present thats not the case. So again how do you support OUR club that currently doesn't have a squad for 2018.

By buying one as soon as they are available

Back on topic, I'll be sad to see Sam go. He's a good player, capable of being even better - however, I guess we are not all privy to what goes on at the club.

Also, it's a strange turn of events:

Team gets relegated - contracts become null and void.

Player says to club - "Great, I'm off to look for somewhere better. I don't want to stay here." No fuss made.

Club says to player - "We don't want you to stay. We want to sign someone better" Everyone up in arms!

Like I say, I don't want to see Sam go, but ultimately, void contracts work both ways.

Very true! Personally, of all the players 'released'/leaving, I reckon he will be one of those who find it easiest to get a new SL club.

Sorry to see him go, would have been an ideal player to help in our fight for Promotion next season.

He was on my keeper list but more for his potential to be dominant at Champ level than SL. I was dissapointed overall last season. I expected big minutes and strong performances, neither really materialised. I still think he is SL quality but needs to step it up.
Good luck to him and to all who are leaving.

I think clubs have a duty of care to these players and should make it clear to them that if they lose the million pound game they won't be required so they should at least find themselves an agent and put their names around. I did say 'similar' - and this isn't a pop at Leigh or any other particular club. I'm just saying clubs in general should make it clear to all the players beforehand, how they see their future at the club in each scenario.
