Mr C is usually quite informative in his posts and provides an interesting insight into the game in general. I used to enjoy reading his views and speaking to him in person down at Leigh East, great conversation indeed. However I personally have not set foot in Leigh East since the shambolic way that club and committee treated a fellow club in Skirlaugh, so not caught up with him in person since. Anyway that is an aside.

Heard of a rolling contract.

The contract value in terms of the salary cap increases in value over the terms of the contract. It is used to attract RU players to the sport or ex RL players back to the sport. If for example a player is on £100k per year contract, the first year 50% of the value is counted on the salary cap. In the second year, 75% is counted on the salary cap. And in the third year 100% is counted on the salary cap. (Not sure on the exact percentages, but that is the gist of it).
