I see a very strong Leigh squad come that game..Stronger than the one we had at home to be honest..I would say the balls in our court not Bradfords.

I do think we'll win at Odsal but agree with you. Yes Bradford showed some real quality in that 1st game but we (in the 2nd half at least) showed a lot more; agreed we've not been showing that lately but hopefully now we've suffered a defeat & we're approaching the business end of the season will begin to again.


I see what people are saying about it potentially being better to finish 2nd rather than 1st but really shouldn't be thinking that way, especially not at this stage. Also wonder what the RFL would have to say about deliberately trying to loose a game? A points deduction to knock you down a place further would probably be fair punishment.

Well said atomic. It seems some folk are not grasping the situation.

If Leigh get into their stride going into the Middle 8's then I believe they'll have more than enough to finish in the top 3, no matter what "route" they have to take.

A big win at Batey this weekend will get the ball rolling.

Middle 8's will be here before we know it.

Of course, some folk will be quick to tell me that there's a lot of rugby to be played before then, and I agree, but now is the time to kick-on and get some momentum. It's time to stand up and show the Championship where we're heading next season.

We need to get back to winning ways against a Batley team who have always played well v Leigh and been incredibly difficult to beat on there own patch over the years.
I'll settle for a scraped 2 points and not worry about what other teams are doing or where we may or may not finish in the league as that's a sure fire way to lose focus on the job in hand.

And what is the job in hand? Beating Batley or beating Widnes on a plastic pitch?

PR was given the task this year to finish in top 4 of championship.Not a mention of SL.So even if we dont get there the target will probably be met.

The fixtures are building up Reffy..Dewsbury 3 days after the Bradford game and still the Hunslet game to be fixed..God help us if we actually turn the Wire over.

There's a 3G pitch exactly like Widnes' pitch at Leigh East. I'm sure we train on it a lot, or can do should we need to. The pitch at Widnes should hold no fear for us.

Performing well and trying to beat Batley is the current job in hand.

I think the score mid week against the only team to beat us this year should say that Batley won't be a rollover. When this club and sometimes this team have had to play in adverse conditions and at short turn around, they have played out of their skin. Remember Fax when we had a short gap and they insisted on us playing. We kicked their asses.

I don't remember them ever getting near to us at the LSV..Remember 3 trys in 6 minutes.

At long last we can now look forward to a home fixture.

I have to also say that Paul Rowley and his staff are class acts. Neil Jukes kindly came over to us later in that second half yesterday to see if my little girl was OK after our group had a little altercation with a Batley fan. It was something and nothing really but the Batley fan was mouthing-off and swearing in front of very young kids.

Anyway, all credit to Neil (and thanks again if you see this, Neil) Paul Rowley and the other staff who made their presence known.

The Batley fan went very quiet. Which just goes to show you. All these opposing fans that mouth-off about Leigh being so-called thugs etc, it's just hot air. And jealousy, of course.
