Not quite sure about Zero competition, some very hard & close games we just managed to scrape a win out of last season.

Obviously next season is going to be much harder as the quality of the league has improved dramatically, whole bottom 1/4 has gone & 2 SL sides have come in, there's more money going round for everyone and teams have made good signings. Still think we've improved on quality & gone full time means we’ll be able to finish up where we want to be.

Rovers are much, much stronger than last season 10 signings that are a level above the ones released will im sure ensure we at least finish 4th. Plus a full off season under hay we may not be full time but we have increased our training times by a considerable amount. No Probiz or the ex clown CEO to distract the players this season either, plus I know for a fact some cash been put to 1 side to see if we need freshening up mid-season. I will be putting a large bet on that we finish in the top 4

Who are the 10 new signings?

The 4 lads from leeds Baldwinson, Foster, Minns and Tonks, Paul Sykes from wakey, millard the Fijian from Rochdale. ryan Vallinden the giant Aussie prop, Sam Irwin the Aussie half back. There is a cook Island international prop that the club haven't named yet and another 2 backs deals about done, so 11 not 10. Im sure with these additions we wont do any worse than last season which will see us in the top 4

I cant see it to be honest. Talking to a lad who knows the Leeds players well he does not expect them to be standout at this level and thinks theres a good chance they will be bit part players and this is just seen as a small step in their development, Leeds will decide what to do with them after this season.

Fev arnt off loading top earners at all there offloading players deemed not upto standard anymore. Just got rid of George Flannagan do you seriously think he was a top earner?? Don't forget we come 2nd and won 450k How much do you want to wager we will finish above fax again

I never said Flannagan was a top earner, Im talking about a few of your more high profile players that are been offered to any clubs willing to pick up the wage bill. RFF knows............

£450K and still offloading high earners, not paying the taxman, and having to take an advance on monies for next season from the RFL. I think its a good job for this competition that Fev managed to get 2nd because I think its a better league with a decent Fev team in it and that would not have happened if it wernt for that money.

Don't know where your infos coming from Greg but im very sorry to disappoint, I know our chairman and I shared a few pints with him last Friday. The only players been offered are the ones we don't want, even quotes Andy Hay saying so in the local paper today, he says no one else is leaving. the tax bill was 11k I bet most clubs owe that, we haven't had a forward of the money that's rubbish. The chairman is very optimistic about us this year and beyond as we have 10 units to rent out in the ground that will bring us a big monthly income and the new gym been built under the stand will be hired to the public will also bring income monthly. In fact he is hoping the match day income will just be a bonus and the real money will come in the hiring of the units. Like I say I will put my money where my mouth is how much you want to wager we will finish above fax next season

What are business rents like in a town where hardly anyone lives? Most businesses prefer to locate closer to populous areas. 15,000 people isn't much of a market to sell to or employ from, and if people are expected to travel then that's going to put up business costs making it less attractive.

Not so sure, considering how close Leigh got to Leeds in the Challenge cup, now we've gone full time and added even more quality and depth to the squad; Bradford will be much better now they've got their money problems sorted & London have had a proper pre-season this year so have to be better than last year. The clubs that have been happy to squander money & do nothing for years on end sitting at the bottom of Super League are going to have to really up their game next season.

Yes but how many of the clubs at the bottom end will actually be able to up their game. Maybe we will see one of the 'bigger' clubs falter and end up in the bottom 4. Now that would make the middle 8 interesting.

Featherstone I actually in Pontefract and the total population is some 60k plus all the surrounding villages makes the area much bigger than people think, anyway our chairman seems to think it will be a winner so that will do for me

why do rumours about which players Fev are offering about always seem to originate from Fax fans?

Not saying they are untrue btw - I have no idea. I'm more concerned with how this information is getting out to the type of people who frequent message boards.

Agents contact clubs saying which players are available, that info gets leaked a lot of the time. All it takes is a "guess who fev(insert team) offered us?" conversation between a few people and the news is out. Moore seems to be the biggest one at Fev that they are struggling to shift.

You haven't answered the question, which was why do these rumours always seem to emanate from Fax fans, and only from Fax fans?

A one off game means nothing, you had no competition in your league this year, you played your best against Leeds and they were poor, you have two super league quality teams next year who will Imo be stronger over the course of the season, anyway I don't see any super league team losing their place to any of the 3 in the championship their just a lot stronger overall.

In all seriousness though the thing about the advance in RFL funding came from the Keighley chairman, the thing about players been offered could have come from any club in the league. I have seen from a Hunslet fan about their talks with Kain. I guess theres just a bigger ratio of Fax fans on these boards than most other clubs.
