Excellent win - never easy at the Mount and 6-36 sounds like a real top effort

Acton was yellow carded for another incident about 1 minute after the Batley player had been sent off.

Looked to me he was really losing it at that stage and I was surprised he wasn't substituted before the incident happened.

Some class attacking play awesome defensive play ref was poor and Leigh at times threw some daft balls out Acton needs to calm down big style he loses it to easily and to be honest Spencer should come back into the team for Friday all in all a great win against a slow and average Batley side Well Done Roll on Friday..

Our two best props didn't play today but we won comfortably .
Threw a few daft balls but you can't complain , love to see that style of rugby some of the stuff that came off was awesome.

Todays performance was very good for me , the Bullfrogs were dishing out plenty of high tackles and again Sam Barlow was the target of most of them , the pathetic chants from them of "One Dane Manning ", shows why I have a dislike for the Bullfrogs , their fans today were very Partizan to put it mildly .Leigh tried to play open rugby and would have won with more ease but for Bats strong arm tactics , no team can bully us , though Acton was losing his temper near the end

All in all a good performance Riddys kicking was first class , 3 40/20s , some thought Emmitt had a quiet game , I though he did well , but for me Armstrong has another good game , took a fair wack on the Jaw to , and I hope McNally is OK , he was holding his arm very limp near the end .Still we just need 2 points roll on Friday , Charlie knows , as I told Paul R today , he laughed and put his thumb up

Very assured performance in an intimidating game. Defence was again awesome and the tries came from classy handling moves. Loved Beswick's back handed pass when running at pace, for Armstrong's try. Once again, Ridyard was involved in three or four of the tries.

Whilst Acton was 'fired up', his sin-binning appeared to come from being third man in a tackle, taking the standing player's legs. Don't know why the Batley guy was red-carded, after Batley had been awarded a scrum - perhaps he said something to the ref?

Outstanding performance all round, play like that again on Friday and the league will be ours.

Could see Acton having long converstions with the ref throughout so obviously wasn't happy about something, what did he get sin binned for? Was it the cannonball tackle? Thought only the Aussies had outlawed those so far.

Yes constant derogatory comments was the reason for the red card.

I have never heard of that happening on an RL pitch before.

Leeds player Zak Hardaker was banned for four games recently because of a similar incident.

But that was put on report wasn't it? He wasn't sent from the field.

He wasn't but after that report he got the ban so a precedent was set.

BTW whatever you thought of the reffing today Leigh were clearly the better side and imo Miles Greenwood was outstanding for Batley.

Rumour is he will be at Fax next season.

I haven't seen a rugby league player as unfit as their number 11 for a long while. He was puffing and blowing after about 15 minutes. He was so tired in the second half he virtually tackled himself in the second half on one occasion. He seemed to be one of their pivots though which was odd.

This was the first time I have had the chance to see Leigh play in the flesh this season. It was nice to have some sun and warmth at Batley which I cannot remember ever happening. What struck me as the biggest improvement since I last saw them was the defence, even when they had repeat sets they never looked like scoring other than from a kick.

I felt we bombed a few chances that we could really have taken which seems to be the story of the season, but you cannot expect everything to come off. Just looked a really confident, well-drilled side to me.

Riddy's kicking was brilliant all through the game - 3 40/20's that should really have been 4 as far as I could have seen. As Keith Hindley said to me, if they manage to get one a game in SL, they are raving about it on Sky and he had three!

Ref seemed a bit clueless...relied on his linesmen a heck of a lot. Looked about 16 as well.

Crying shame if that happens - they way you guys have structured yourselves over recent years seems to be a benchmark for similar championship clubs. (no disrespect) Never likely to make SL but always seemed set both on and off the field to be comfortable at this level.

One of the pitfalls of the new structure - 5 teams being relegated is a tough call.

I would be surprised if that was the reason for the red card, how long does the ref put up with them to be called constant? Certainly doesn't warrant a red.

It's not necessarily a derogatory comment towards the referee.

If what I'm hearing about what the comments were is true then the sending off was justified especially in the light of the RESPECT campaign, something by the way most people involved as officials and players in Rugby League should revisit, some of the abuse leveled at Touch judges and refs by the 'benches' at them is disgraceful.

The comments were a constant barrage to a Leigh player I presume once the ref heard one he branded the red card as per the rules.

Directed at Acton who appeared to be the Batley 'Target' once Big Sam wasn't on the field, why is it most Yorky teams are obsessed with trying to knock Sams head off?

They probably think they can get him to react and get him sent off, he's learning very well to deal with it too. Great player is Sam

Read both reports in the rugby papers, one by Dave P and one by someone else and both seemed to suggest that Batleys tactics were questionable.
