I don't think he's going to go anywhere. He's playing really well as part of a winning team on its way to SL with him as a full time player from next season and seems to be enjoying himself. A move to a bottom SL team would be a sideways move and he's not ready for a top SL team yet so he would just be dual registered to a team worse than Leigh.

He's rubbish, don't know why any Super League team would be interested. He's barely good enough to get in the Leigh team.

From the statement on the club website:-

“Ryan is a great player, a great person and is the biggest part of our plans for the Club.”

Isn't that a bit disrespectful to everyone else at the club, surely 'a big ' instead of 'the biggest' would have been better?

Think some often expect every player to be perfect in every aspect of the game, personally I don’t see Ryan as an all singing and dancing half back that perhaps you’re expecting, although he’s improving he isn’t currently a great playmaker, whether he’ll improve enough to be considered one only time will tell.

But what he does have is an eye for the gap, a quick turn of pace, and that makes him great finisher, which is what every team needs, his defence is usually reliable so all things considered IMO he is currently the best half back in the championship.

I can see him going eventually to somewhere like Leeds as he’d be ideal for replacing Maguire, who himself isn’t their greatest playmaker.

why dont you read his twitter from yesterday ? Asked by another twitter account about coming to Leeds - his reply was "I am a Leigh Player until the end of the year". That sound like a player who just signed a 3 year extension ? No not really.
Why would he say that if he had just signed a 3 year deal ??

The chance of playing super league for Leigh must be massive for him. But the chance to sign for Leeds is even bigger, sorry but that's a fact. Could see Leeds doing what they did with hardaker and loan him back to Leigh for a full season.

SL clubs must be desperate for quality half backs - they don't seem to be developing many of their own, what with overseas' players filling many of the half back roles.

Lynda , I don't think theres a Club in SL , that wouldn't want Ryan , we all know what a class player he is , however Derek Beaumont has said on the Centurions Website that he is going nowhere , I hope this is true , it makes you think was he offered a new 3 year deal to secure a Transfer deal , if this is the case , well done to the Club for at least getting some cash for him .

For me I always wondered what John Woods would have been like had he played for Saints , or Leeds , Ryan has plenty of time ahead of him , and is a credit to himself and his Family , I wish him all the best , whatever he does .

I'm expecting it to get deleted actually when the club get a sniff of it.....the fact is the whole new 3 year contract is a red herring because the club hope/expect that a SL will come calling and have to pay a fee to cover that term.....good move by the club but should have really told the player to play along with it too....

Roy Ryan tweeted a response 'he knows how long his contract is for but maybe he never thought you would put two and two together to make five.

Why not ask him the question directly that you keep posting on here ?
