But what if the "Bandwagon" supporters enjoy the experience of jumping on the bandwagon so much that they start to go to all the matches ?
I only saw Leigh play at LSV 6 or 7 times at the most before going to the NRC final on a whim but have not missed a match since. It's not only the big games that will bring back the fans, it's the whole sense of togetherness that this new BOM is trying to bring in. Long may they continue.

I didn't say that I had hardly been all season - I still go to as many games as I can and I will be there Sunday - I just now do not feel any great desire to be there at all costs and I now just go as a form of entertainment rather than any great love for the club, much as I will go watching City or to the cinema or for a weekend in the Lakes. It is attitudes like yours towards the casual fan which put people off committing to the club for fear of being made to feel inferior - fortunately I don't care what anyone else thinks - I will continue to attend for the entertainment value alone but I will save my committment for my community RL club and the teenagers which I coach.

The board welcome back all fans, old new or never- the club/town isn't big enough for division and we hope our soon to be announced fantastic season ticket deals will entice all to commit for 2014

So that would be me, since last May ( 2012) , Ive watched 1 Challenge cup match, 1 away league match, 3 NRC matches including the final and 30 minutes of the Haven match

I class anyone who watches Leigh be it once or 1,000 times as a fan and loyal to our cause as we are hardly a club that attract 'Glory supporters' as we have been outside the top flight for far too long.

However back on topic,,,,,,
Operation Fev would be most welcomed as it would again encourage a higher level of interest in the club in our area and also ensure our club makes some money (ensure we monitor the gates / buy at the LSV in advance though), something to look forward to.

Before that though the lads have serious business to do on the pitch on Sunday against Dewsbury........

Finish 4th and do the business. If both clubs want to subsidise coaches, then absolutely fantastic. It can be only beneficial for us and we can easily take 1500 to Fev and pack one end of their subbuteo ground !!

Mind you, I will put 5p E/W on the gate being announced at least 1000 lower than actual ! LOL

I would defineatly ask Fev to contribute for cheap coaches.
Also put counters on turnstile, and take close of photo or film sections at a time of each part of the ground , in case we need to count up !!!

Mock if you like but the sad part about all this to me is since Fax announced that gate against Batley Everyone is saying Rovers make figures up. Well for the Sheff game the community team have done a fantastic job promoting it giving vouchers out for £20 family tickets in Ponte town centre giving all local amateur clubs them also as well as letting all season ticket holders purchase 1 ticket for only £10. They have advertised it all over the place even took out a full page ad in the Ponte and Cas express got a Rod Stewart tribute before the game, Hog Roast, bouncy thing. They were rewarded with a superb turn out on a Wed night with a cracking atmosphere. I have been visiting Post Office Road for the best part of 38 years and i guessed the crowd as 3 1/2k so i wasnt far out then i found out there was nearly 300 catered for inside so i was very close. The club have done marvelous for this game and the others also but all this work goes uncredited by most it seems its just put down to an inflated crowd figure just like Fax V Batley shame. Ow and if we play leigh and its a shared gate iv no doubt it will be announced as 1500

I doubt there are many on here who would know how to do that without the specific training and would they be dressed in camouflage suits ?

And when fans have had their part of the crowd captured on film they could then move to another part.......... record crowd?

The peeps having a "pop" at the gate on Wednesday are without doubt the ones who didn't watch the match on t 'Telly!!

It was blatantly obvious there was a really decent crowd there!

Just an idea but wouldnt it be better someone from your club finds out about the schemes used to build the crowd up or would you rather bury your heads and say fictional

A few of those questioning the figure were actually at the game, in fairness.

No one outside a club take's a blind bit of interest in club's own published attendances. They are what you want them to be.

When Salford were in the championship they announced a gate of 9,000 for a match v Swinton just prior to the new SL franchise announcements. Halifax did similar.

We could announce an attendance of 12,000 on Sunday at The LSV if we wanted - (10,000 complimentary hospitality tickets + 2,000 paid)

But what's the point?

Look everytime Leigh play up at Featherstone on a shared gate, with 5 or 6 coachloads of Leigh supporters and many more in cars swelling the Featherstone gate, the attendance is published around the 1,600 spectators mark.

That obviously is a more realistic Featherstone attendance benchmark.

So if you guys(Fev) can get that many on with the 50 Sheffield fans they have, then we bring 800 to 1000 then the crowd will be nearer the 5000 mark wont it

I'm told the Leigh play off attendance is 1504!

WHEN I have ever said im "SUPERFAN ", there are plenty of Leigh Fans more commited to Leigh than I am , I just get tired of people saying "I was there ", at Finals and such , yet they cant be bothered to support the Team at games like Sundays against Dewsbury , when the Club needs the Revenue most .

BFFC , I admire you for standing up for your beliefs , as I always do , as I have said these are just my opinions , of which im entitled to , folk don't like em TOUGH .

As for you supporting your Community Club , and Youngsters again you should be applauded for giving your time to them and to the Game you no doubt love

im not trying to make anyone feel inferior , just trying to drum up MORE support , for the Club I love , again you have your Views I have mine , that's life , I respect you for them .
