Since we've taken over the club I have taken responsibility for two main areas one being communications and the other to oversee all aspects of community linked to the club.

One of my first tasks was to engage with likes of LISA and the Foundation just name two independent organisations affiliated to our the club to offer a link to the New BOM.

Trevor and John were kind enough to give me a presentation on the Foundation and have since presented it to the Chairman and other members of the BOM. All are happy that the great work it does while independent it's branded in the name of Leigh Centurions and is massive for the community trust me its very impressive.

I do meet regular now with John in particular and Trevor from time to time and while I wouldn't call myself a trustee as such they are open book with me and the club and I'm copied in on their internal correspondence.

Our Finance Director Mike reads these pages and may or may not chose to comment but you are correct in your assertion Harold the club has not for many years been on as sound a financial footing though we still have work to do.

Mike in particular has worked very hard since taking over and has not only reduced the inherited debt right down but has cut the overdraught facility right back also and being a corperate finance expert has really negotiated all the hurdles that come along professionally.

We've had challenges not just financial to overcome but have done so as this new team has a group of business skill sets that are the envy of not just every team outside of SL but the majority in it and that opinion isn't just mine but the RFL have never seen anything like we have rolled out in front of them before from Leigh Centurions so we must be doing something right.

To say we've done nothing yet is very Nieve to be honest but I know Steve wants to see us succeed and means us no halm.

Well I have been watching my team since 1956 and until AJM came on board I thought well I can't ever seeing my club getting anywhere.

Well I have that same feeling again ie the feeling I had when we beat Stains 27 6 shortly after.

I hope I will still be around in 2021 cos there is no better feeling than to watch your team win the Challenge Cup.

I have seen my team win the Challenge Cup , and win the League at Haven ,im not as old as you , but who is ?And I started watching Leigh in 1961 so you have me beat there also .

To answer Starbug ?Steve I don't hero worship anybody , although I do admit maybe to John Woods being the BEST all round Rugby player I have ever seen , just my opinion though , all im saying is the feeling the current BOD or BOM whatever they are called , gives me a feeling of confidence in the Club , im even feeling positive about Mo and his role at the Club .

We have been on a rollercoaster over the last few years, the club have tried many different approaches unfortunately without the success that we, the supporters, crave.

We now have a new BOM, that seem to have identified problems, and come up with a sustainable approach in dealing with them and, more importantly, identified the opportunities that lie ahead of us with the upcoming changes in Rugby, it is important we stand behind them and support our team.

I am sure as we progress we will all find things we don't like, or don't approve of, but lets concentrate on the battles we can win, don't become a vocal stay away, the BOM seem more than open to hear from supporters, voice your concerns (where possible please base these on facts not some fantasy you have dreamt up) give them the opportunity to listen and then reciprocate and have the courtesy of listening to their response.

I believe as supporters we have to give the BOM the opportunity to succeed and the best way for that to happen is getting to the ground, watching our team, joining LISA, being part of the lottery (Which I have won twice in the last year, £5 each time), joining the Touchdown Club, going to the retail unit, wearing your Leigh polo's, shirts, tee shirts, hoody or coat at every opportunity(Not weddings or christenings), subscribing to LCTV... You don't have to do all of the above, but each little bit you can makes you a part of the success, it makes you a part because you are enabling it, nourishing it and BeLeighving it...

Even though I'm an avid wire fan I would like to say that I have a soft spot for the club. Every thing now seems to be in place for next season where the club looks like it can go places. Lets hope you can secure a place in super league and smash the pies.

I was there when Mo was LISA head person and also when Sporting Club Leigh were formed and they presented themselves to us supporters with their ideas and ambitions. All of those guys struck me as passionate Leigh supporters who found themselves in a position to improve our club and team from what it had become. I felt they did as good a job as they could with some great results, if i remember correctly we were winning most games had great support and decent communication. I also remember some of the trials and tribulations that these businessmen went through to try and sustain the level us fans were used to from our team and club which i will never be able to thank them enough for. Now things have moved on quite a bit since those days although the exciting developments at our club with Andy, John, Neil and others gives me almost the same feeling of anticipation and excitement as i felt as SCL were formed. One difference is some of the people involved in SCL are still around and able to use their experiences in running our club to help/ guide offer advise to our new BOM . Feels mighty good to be a Centurions fan now, doesn't it ?

If you recall I was not a fan of the consortium and was in the other corner at the time but like most on here its the club we support
My concerns were about cash input not in the form of loans to sustain losses, if you are ever daft enough to put money into a sports club then its money you should never see again imo but you must commit those funds and share the burden
Our challenge will be keeping the spirit and knowledge we currently have in the years to come, after all we are just custodians trying to make the club the best it can be until we pass it on to better hands some day
Derek for example is far more handsome today than in 2004, he also claims to be wiser as well though.
Grip the seat and enjoy the ride it will be fun

Neil/Maurice we haven't seen eye to eye on here over the years but I say this with all honesty, that what you, Andy, John, Derek and all the other BOM members are doing for this club is something that I could never envisage myself ever undertaking. You have all got my utmost admiration and it makes my day reading all the positive vibes coming from the posts on here.

Neil if wisdom were attached to BMI then Derek would be considerably wiser (sorry D couldn't resist), and Neil you and I are both passionate about our club and as you more than likely remember haven't seen things in the same way

, I am delighted you decided to as it were "put your head on the block" and step forward and see for yourself what's possible and long may it continue.
