As the towns professional club Leigh Centruions needs a strong Leigh East as Indeed it needs all it's community partners so we shall help in any way possible.

Someone who knows a little more about it than I do should go on there and start a thread to make other Leythers aware of what's going on. I'll do anything I can to help raise awareness of this issue.

We can discuss this like adults when we sit down to discuss other buisness, think we've already demonstrated its not just talk we are here to walk the walk and consider all our community teams as partners moving forward so it's in our intrest we help Leigh East in any way we can. In order to do this we need to establish facts and can't just go off a message board thread.

Would you expect anyone to come out shouting and balling about a subject we have none or very little knowledge of at present???

I'm in contact with Keith and will be sitting down with him hopefully early this week, following this we can make a professional assessment of the situation and determine just how best we can help Leigh East.

I really do wonder at times of how someone who knows how a professional operation should work and conduct itself and has been involved as a director so knows how much work is involved could be so nieve and feel the need to have little digs via a message board every five minutes.

Let's at least be constructive in what we say and do.

Unfortunatly it is only by going ' public ' will anything be resolved on this issue , and time is of the essence , apart from that request to Leigh Centurions to show public support , the rest of my post was not aimed at anybody currently at the club , my experience of how the LSV was ' executed ' has left a bad taste in my mouth and many others , mistruths were told , plans were changed , structures altered

The more people within the town who are asking questions , the more chance we have of obtaining the truth , and as we know sometimes you dont always get the truth in politics

I don't know what the council are trying to achieve, looking at the figures Leigh East pay now it is a lot of money for a amateur club to pay and if the council think they can get more elsewhere they are seriously deluding themselves, East are paying way to much as it is, who else around the local area would be willing to pay that sort of money the council want? NO ONE

If I got a specific government grant to build a specific public place then charged the specific public to use it I'd expect someone important to ask me to justify why I am doing that and where the cash was going.

I see the word on twitter is spreading too, just seen that Chris Hill put a tweet out with the link to Leigh Easts statement, good if some pro players get involved to help the cause.

I was a proud member at Leigh East.

I took both of my ex-partners children for around 7 years, and I have to say that we were always made to feel welcome and at home, both at Grasmere St and at LSV. I always felt that Easts always had the best interests of their members at heart, and it was somewhere where you could expect your children to be looked after brilliantly.

It's a travesty what is happening and our elected representatives have a moral duty to ensure that Leigh East are treated fairly. To not do so would be a massive blow to the futures of the children of Leigh.

Why don't they simply hand over the running of the debt free facility to the sports clubs involved?

My sentiments exactly. The various departments within Wigan council could, with ease run the entire site. Finance look after the tenants, leisure trust look after the grassed areas and landscaping etc. etc. yet they choose to pay a " middle man" around £250,000 per year in salaries. Having been solely responsible for the demise of Leigh Genesis LSV co. have a lot to answer for and I wouldn't be the least surprised if they are the people responsible for driving the take over of the Leigh East pavillion.

Leigh East were a huge help in assisting LGFC and still provide a great training base for the junior teams. Unfortunately our fight was unsuccessful (LSV lost a £500,000 grant from the Football Foundation because of their refusal to work alongside us at senior level) but I sincerely hope Easts got the right result.

It would be a question I would be pushing for inclusion on agendas as high up the political ladder as possible.

I would just copy and paste onto here, but we'd end up with pages and pages of irrelevant stuff that may well do the cause no good whatsoever. Someone needs to peruse them and post any significant, within the law, and relevant bits IMO

The staffing cost at the Leigh Centurions side of things from the LSV must be huge, they all travel over from Yorkshire.

With you 100% Mags, I was also under the impression that council facilities were being handed over for the community to run, is that the case with either anther ton or Tyldesley baths
I would love east and lrlfc take over the running of the LSV, it would save a fortune in salaries let alone become far more community/customer focused
