Not according to an elderly female fev fan on the car park. 6 tries disallowed and Leigh had twice as many penalties. Be gracious in victory you silly mare i wanted to say but i didn't. Just wished them a safe journey home.

She was probably right I made the pen count 17-7 to leigh - what I was trying to say is Stokes was bad for everyone and I suspect that he doesn't have a big downer on Leigh he calls it as he sees it - I disagree with a lot of those decisions but I would am biased for Fev - I just think at times somefans rubbish refs without considering how hard a job it is.

The Leigh fans certainly cant complain about George today , I thought he had a very good game , for we Leigh were the better side in the first half , but Fev upped a gear in the second , we dropped to much ball , and our backs have not enough speed .BY that I mean 2-5 .

Fair play to the officials, they made some big calls today, especially with regards to the disallowed tries. They did manage to miss a HUGE knock on in the tackle in the set of six from which Fev scored their third try, but it's up to the defence to keep them out more than anything.

Matt you cant say Georgie had a bad game today , I thought he was very fair on both sides , we were poor in the second half , I felt we should have been a few in front in the first half , but the best team won today .

We looked good for the first 38 minutes'

Then 5 different players did daft things which they normally do not do.

I thought Antony England's disallowed try was harsh and him going off seemed to galvanise Fev.

We have now lost four games. Fev twice' Fax and Sheffield.

Players not at the races second half so well done Fev.

In conclusion although I agree with Matt about Fev's third try I think as I have said many times players win games not referees.

I was just going for refreshments at the time and as you`ll see on CTV it was a double movement. Fair play to Fev they were the better team over 80 mins.

I didn't say that he had a bad game, I just said they missed what was potentially a pivotal moment in the game, but I did acknowledge that made some very big calls during the game and have to be given credit for that.

I thought George was his usuall self. Rubbish. The only good thing was he wasn't one sidedly rubbish. And Matt that knock on when the Fev lad was going down in the tackle on our 10 was astonishing. I saw it from the North West Stand near to the tunnel.

Its not that he's rubbish, he is annoying in that he refs in that "James Child pedantic, everything to the letter of the law" way.....so a game never flows at all.


Wish we had more in the mould of ex refs John Holdsworth, or Steve Presley, who used to run a game with some common sense!

George had his best game at Leigh yesterday, we simply failed to counteract how Fev always play allowing acres of space for their playmakers to take us apart in

Fev may have beaten us with a makeshift patched up Leigh team but we've beaten them this season when it counts & we'll do again when we next meet. They can have the league leaders shield as we all know it counts for nowt we're claiming the grand final trophy this season now which bookies are giving us good odds?

Englands try was a double movement so correct decision to disallow it...Stokes is a shocking ref and was poor both ways but cant agree with some Fev fans saying he was all for Leigh as they got away with a hell of a lot (as did we).

For any game which is between 2 top 5/6 sides you need to give it to Thomason as IMO he is the best ref at this level.

We had a makeshift side yesterday and when we get a fully fit side on the pitch I believe we can win the NRC and the GF.

Was listening to Radio Cumbria on Sunday (great RL coverage if you ever get the chance to listen - especially as all 3 clubs in our division) and the Barrow coaches comments was less than complementary about the Ref , basically (not word for word) said he was fed up of getting boy referees who hadn't played the game.

Heat of the moment no doubt but less than chuffed !

a few comments on here about Leigh having a makeshift team...Fev were without Andy Kain, Sam Smeaton, Kyle Briggs and Jonny Hepworth, lost arguably our best forward in the first ten minutes, and had back-row men playing centre and stand off.

I tend to agree. It really was as simple as the best 17 won, on the day. No arguments from me.

Fair play. To be fair we all tend to see things from our own point of view, our first instinct when you beat us in the NRC was probably to blame the interceptions rather than credit Leigh's excellent defensive stint which stifled our attack.

As indeed Fev's terrific defence stifled us on Saturday, and gave them the opportunity to express themselves in attack. (in my opinion, of course!)

Fevs no. 10 is a handful . He can offload the ball in most tackles/ collisions .For me he is their danger man .

Steve Crossley? Always rated him at Dewsbury, before his move to POR. I think he was at Bradford prior to that.
