Well my personal opinion on your statement is that at least one of those would bring benefits to the club.

Riddy is the best 6 we have and runs the game for us.......the problem is at 7 - Beswick is a 9/13 and is were the problem is. We need someone who can help direct the team around with Riddy......McNally at 7 and Brierley at 1 for me.

I'd go with that but maybe McNally does not want to play at scrum half or it would have been done a few matches ago ?

Play him at six then with Penky at seven and Beswick at nine

We need to make them think twice when we have ball I'm not going to bag riddy but he's not going to worry a SL team as he doesn't have the pace or speed of hands. Riddy can at times slow our attack down.

A stand off needs to have 3 basic things in his game........

1 Take the line on

2 A decent turn of pace


3 Throw out a decent pass under pressure!

Greg and Ryan B both better bets for six IMO and could interchange between six and one with good options at nine Penky could fill the problem seven this season with nico backing up Beswick

So who do you play at 7 if Brierley and McNally play 6 and 1?........Penky will do better ay 9 IMO and Beswick will never be a HB - he`s a 9/13.

As we've got three good nines I'd play as stated above Penky at seven like he did for fax in his early days and even before his drugs ban was a SL seven

Friday nights game is 1 we are all looking forward to but the championship is our priority.......thats the level were at BUT playing lads in wrong positions is not helping and if we are to continue with Brierley off the bench then he needs to be on after 20 mins till 50 mins point.....then back on with 15 left to add some zip into the attack.

He`s being wasted at the mo IMO.

McNally is younger and faster so will be a better 7 than Penky.......you slow down with age and Duffy did the same ....HB to 9 - but covered when needed.

Kevin penny is faster than them all mate would you play him at seven.

Like Duffy showed last few years a good pivot if they have the talent can get better with age Penky can take teams round the park better than Beswick and Beswick can defend the ruck better than Penky with nico interchanging at nine after 20/25 and posing a different threat jumping out of the POB and attacking the fringes

I've always wanted us to sign Penny to play on our wing.

Outside a solid defensive centre he would clean up at Leigh or anywhere in this league. People harp on about his Defence but if he's looked after by a good centre he would be ok.

It would certainly sort our lack of pace out.

Correct though, you can't drop class - Riddy was substituted soon after that moment and has been a few times this season. Nuff said.

In our normal starting 17 i'd say Hopkins was as quick as anyone after Brierley (sub) and Pownall. Maybe McNally, but that's about it.

Interesting you should mention the radio broadcast, what (in your opinion) makes you think it's failed?
