Why ? Announcement tomorrow 9am what's the worry ? Should it be a week on Friday or a week on Sunday you will have plenty of time to make arrangements if you want to go.

Can't understand the fuss as when we know everyone has more than a week to get a ticket or just pay on the day if anyone really wants to go.

I shall be at Fax on Sunday and have plans for the next few days. Guess I am lucky I do not have to plan my life for more than one week from now.

Seems to me travel arrangements to a town some 7 miles away take a lot of organising for some.

While I agree with what you're saying Frank, the point that most are making about the delay in an announcement is that it reduces the time in which the fixture can be 'marketed'. Now, some might say that a W*gan v Leigh cup game should sell itself, but a bit of promotion will always help. And, for those without the luxury of time on their hands - shift workers, those outside the area (even those, like PNE, outside the country!), and those who can only get to the ticket office at weekends - the chance to plan properly is not too much to ask!!

The longer it takes to organize this fixture the less will show. Folks have another life outside rugby league as my missus has just informed me we are going out next Friday

There are also plenty of people like myself who have longer journeys and need to book trains etc. Sorry but this is pretty poor from whichever side is delaying things.

i have just been told, that the players have again been informed tonight, that its friday!
Why its not been confirmed i dont know,maybe the ticket price as yet to be resolved.

This is rapidly turning into another right farce.

One of my mates who was extremely keen to attend and required a ticket but has now just agreed to work next Friday night in the absence of anything concrete.

Leigh could have had £10k in the bank minimum by now from ticket sales alone.

I would be interested to know how much Leigh want to charge fans for admission to this match as from talking to a few Wigan supporters at work, rightly or wrongly that's were the finger of suspicion for this situation is currently pointing to.

Make it £15 and season ticket holders of both clubs get in for a tenner.

I really am at a loss to understand some posts on this thread.

We play Friday or Sunday some will not be able to go for whatever reason.

Our club is on the breadline and needs to negotiate a price structure which will suit the vast majority of Wigan fans so as to ensure a decent return from the crowd that will attend the game a week next Friday.

Can you imagine running a business in a similar financial position as our club who would not have to do the same ?

Had we got a regular 2000 fans per home game maybe it would not have mattered so much and would not have annoyed some' who think waiting four days and a bit is far too long in the scheme of things to know the fixture date and the ticket price.

Anyways we will all know tomorrow won't we.

Blimey, this is nothing compared to what football fans go through all season (proper football fans that is, who go to games, not the ones who wear the shirt and shout a lot.)

Exactly! The club is living hand to mouth and this is a great opportunity to a) make some money and b) win back fans. I appreciate they need to negotiate the best deal but that shouldn't take so long! People have lives outside of rugby league and will make other plans. That is the harsh reality, not everyone can afford to say that they will be there come what May because they have other commitments. It should have been sorted ASAP to allow the best part of two weeks to really push the game on the back of the draw hype.

If I were running a company and presented a huge opportunity like this I would be bending over backwards, even if that meant having to make concessions just so I could get it sorted and get the message out.

That is my point exactly people do have other commitments not least the guy who looks after or overseas our finances.

He works full time and am sure has other responsibilities in his life away from Leigh RLFC.

All I am saying is we will know today when and at what time we play the Pies and how much tickets are.

Anyone reading this thread would think organising' for most Leythers a 7 mile trip takes Leythers a lot of brain work

Well there is the matter of organising coaches - tickets need printing for example.
I've had my finger on the button all week to get the tickets sorted to have on sale from today but due to the delay I will unfortunately not be able to do them now.

Typical RL no wonder people are getting fed up with Rugby League simple things like organising a day to play and they struggle to do that ..
