If you go to the fixtures section on our website it states that we are playing Friday at 8pm. I dont know how much power the RFL have over that slot but like others have said I'd have played on Sat evening rather than Friday.

Very annoyed with Sky for not showing our game. We've been hit in the pocket but I'll still be there and it'll be a great occasion under the lights with a decent crowd. Like I said before get who's left of the '71 team to do a lap of honour before the game and whip the crowd up.

Who knows it may end up tie of the round and doesnt get televised... that would be justice in itself.

You never know, it could have been Leighs choice. I don't know why you're all up in arms because you don't like it when the club may very well have chosen to stay at friday, after all, aren't many of your fixtures evening games these days? Lack of TV will be a blessing in disguise, you'll tack an extra 1000 on the gate easily which will more than make up for your lack of TV money, you watch and see.

If the ground is free, and we've no commitments to the TV cameras, why are we playing on Friday? It makes little sense.

I can understand wishing to avoid Sunday with all the football, but surely Saturday evening after the Wigan v Saints game would be a more suitable slot?

More corporate hospitality can be sold on a friday, which, like it or not, more than makes up for the few of you that can't go because of work.
A few neutrals will probably attend on the friday too who wouldn't bother after the Wigan/Saints game

, hospitality would probably have sold the same whether on TV or not, it will be impossible to know either way but I doubt we’ll get enough extras through the gate to make up for the loss of TV revenue, extra advertising etc.

Advertising possibly, I'm unaware as to your arrangements in that regard. Despite Leeds' home attendances being huge I really think you'd have struggled to break 3.5k if this game was on TV, however I feel you'll hit 5k now and at an average of £17 per pop, minus VAT ofc gives you, imo an extra 20k off the top of my head, double your split of TV money.

Secondly it's quite well known that hospitality sells better on fridays, hence Leeds, Hull, Saints, Salford et als personal choice to play on the friday when they're well aware general attendances will be hit

We wont get £17 it'll be nearer £8- £10 by the time the RFL, LSV, taxman, Fred



etc have had their cut.

Hopefully the Friday night hospitality will be sold out but I feel this would be the same if on TV or not.

Brilliant, at least we were clearly prepared to go and were waiting on the numpties at RFL and Wigan.

Glad it's got sorted... Friday night kick off gives us an extra couple of days preparation/rest for the home game with Hunslet.

The fact that we are still going ahead with a Friday night instead of a Saturday evening match, thus reducing the Leeds away support from up to 2000 supporters to about 100 can only mean either / or IMO:

A) We are still trying to convince SKY to take up their option of broadcasting the tie in their scheduled slot.

B) LSV have subsequently ruled the club out of Saturday in the hope of landing the Pie's v Saints Saturday afternoon match.

I can not see any potential increase in corporate revenue being a reason. We don't make that much as it is and the last time Leigh played a Saturday evening at LSV, I am sure Trvor Barton made the point that it was the first occasion that all of the corporate box's had been sold out.

Also £10 coach travel thats £5 cheaper than normal or they can use a voucher they get with their season ticket for free travel.

I was thinking the same myself John and I also wonder if the RFL have used the help we got when we were in the mire to sway our decisions. It's funny how elation can turn into deflation. We deserved a bit more luck than this draw has given us.

Why should there be deflation mate,surely its better we're nor on tele?.the club have been trying new KO times this season so what a great opportunity for those who wont come on sundays to finally make an appearance.As for away support,wont leeds be getting the income from theres support as part of the gate split?so what difference does that make to us?
