Yes, they have a guy who, though he keeps a low profile, will always "help out in a substantial way" financially

| I don't understand being anti Swinton. If they pay LSV the full amount then it's more income to keep the stadium running. If Leigh play at home when Swinton play away the fans that don't travel to away games (the majority) could see a game at the LSV. Personally I have little interst in watching Swinton but to make sure the stadium is used as much as possible must be a good thing, especially if it keeps the costs down for all users.

| If the LSV has been so crippling for Leigh one wonders what it will do for Swinton with half our gates.
Are Swinton playing on Friday nights all season or could we end up with the situation whereby we get booted out for a game or two so Swinton can play at 'home'.

| Most of Swintons team are ex Leythers,so they should get a fair few of you watching, still think Ian Mort should be a Fax player though.

Surely whatever they pay is whatever deal they negotiated for themselves for what they require? Same got you guys.
E.g. Swinton will only need one stand in use whereas you guys often have 3?

Well, that was my thinking, but it appears it is flawed! I still think that, to attract even a few of them to our games, and a few of ours to theirs, won't exactly harm either club.

Well said Wurzel Leyther, my sentiments exactly, whats wrong in helping another club? who as stated on this thread have been nomads for the past few years.
They have played at Gigg lane Bury, Sedgley park Prestwich and this past season at the Willows in Salford.
In my opinion the Swinton fans who have stuck by them over this past few years, deserve all the help and support any other club can give them.

| As a Swinton fan I find some of the negative stuff on here bizarre. I dont see how us playing at your ground can do Leigh anything but good. We arent going to steal any fans off you and we will create revenue.
Im really looking forward to playing there. I enjoyed the match against Leigh in the northern rail cup and the facilities are fabulous. The trip down the Lancs only takes ten minutes.
I think a joint ticket offer is a great idea,Id certainly come to watch Leigh for a fiver but not full price so its a win win.
Blimey I tell you what some of you disenchanted Leigh fans-try going through what we have for the last twenty years. That we still exist is a miracle.
Scooter Nick, thanks for the words of encouragement.

| Well Mark I'm pleased that Swinton are coming to play at Leigh for a season. Hopefully it's a win-win situation for all parties. Lions fans have my admiration and just think it could have been us as well in this position if Malcolm White had succeeded with his bid to buy the club in 1990...

| Personally have no problems with Swinton playing at the LSV
However playing devils advocate here, if we are relegation dwellers next season and Swinton are doing well in the league would those 'occasional RL fans' who turn up every now and again choose to watch Swinton or watch Leigh

| I believe Swintons crowds have been on a downward spiral ever since they started trek around the areas stadia? Given that the rent on LSV has nearly LCRLC, what chance have SLRLC got on their gates?
I'll bet they lose around 10% off their gates this year too. I hope I'm wrong, but in the real world I suspect not.

Well said that man!!
The sooner folk start to realise that the key to survival for all the clubs outside SDL is more co-operation, the better off we'll all be!!
Welcome Mark.....and I hope you understand my meaning when I say that I hope you won't be here for long!!

| Ha,thanks a lot.
Its good to see that in the majority the true sense of rugby league prevails. Humour friendship and team work.
As for our crowds being in a downward spiral I would say that fact is true of most clubs. However Swintons Im sure have seen a huge increase this season, maybe 30-50% up on the previous seasons corresponding fixtures.
Scooter Nick I think you are presenting your opinion as fact. Cheer up mate.

Mark,
A serious question - do you believe there is any mileage in a joint ticketing initiative, if it's attractive enough to the fans?
I'm not really interested in who would benefit most, as I see it as a win-win for both clubs.
I know there would be resentment amongst Leigh fans, who are paying full price if we let your fans in for say a fiver, but if we made the offer to s/t holders only, surely we would both benefit, as these would be 'new' fans for both clubs?

| Agree with it....if you got a season ticket - you get in the other clubs match for £5.
This would increase attendance figures and may tempt people to buy season tickets also.....win win situation IMO.
Dont forget that if we do apply for SL next time around we still need to tick the box for attendances - 2500 average is needed in either of the next 2 years, as we fell short this past season.

I just cant see what harm it could possibly do. Full price you wouldnt go,fiver you might go to a few games.

Agree, but how do you police it in an all ticket arena, eg get a Swinton ST for £140 then buy 30 tickets at a fiver for each Leigh game.
If we can cover the loopholes ie a cash gate to flash the ST, then its a no brainer.
