| Would love to see a coach of Brian Nobles standing at Leigh.
However just where are we with the off field stuff, if things are so bad (not heard a update for a bit but suspect we still have no buyer in sight) then talking about Noble etc is just dreamland.
I will say though I hope our board / whoever is in charge has a list of candidates now and a good idea of who it is, players leave clubs very early these days and TBH as the play offs end we need (if able) to be signing people / ensuring they don't leave.
The longer we leave it without a Head coach the less chance of keeping players here or attracting players in IMO.

| Well as its open to application all the speculation is pointless unless we know that person has applied. I'd love Keiron Purtill to have a go but has he applied yet? I'm not sure Brian Noble would apply to be honest.

| I'd be amazed if Noble comes but if he does it can only mean we are a stable club with a good board.
As for people questioning Nobles ability, just look at his CV any of those achievements for us and he'd be in gold on the town hall steps

| Noble replacing Millward will be stupidity, ie let a great coach go for financial reasons who knows the club, the area and its fans to be replaced by another great coach costing as much but no affinity with the club/area/fans
We have gone for cost savings so we will set our goals accordingly, as long as its not PR to step up then we will be alright.

| Agreed Basil out Nobby in makes no sense, altho I'm not sure finance played a part in Ian leaving. Ian simply wanted to be back in SL, I feel Hull FC have made a massive blunder in not getting Ian

I suspect finance did play a part Ste, in that there was no guarantee that he would continue to get his salary, had he opted to stay on.

Says who ?. where do you get this information from ?. Yes the lads celebrated after big wins but by no means was there a Booze culture. He gelled the lads together as team mates and that bond got the boys playing for each other, Matt and Martin Hall are a fantastic combination, Hall getting the players onboard and Matt coming up with the game plans and plays.
The record speaks for itself to be fair, Oh and all our wins were within the agreed salary cap, ( Not a dig at Leigh, More Barrows 2009 GF win, which could yet be stripped ). so potentially Matt could have achieved back to back GF wins and NRC final in the 3 seasons. Please tell me who else has achieved this in his first Head Coaching role ?.

Beat me to it Steve, plus players talk and more than one clubs players take/took part in certain incidents, get real cocker why did the Halifax BOD get shut. Ohh and potential means nothing results are everything, I mean we all know Halifax are as pure as the driven snow, what was that attendance figure again

| Noble is too defensive and plays boring rugby much rather see someone who will have them playing like Basil.

Can't agree with that, Bradford were very entertaining when he was in charge as were Halifax in his brief stint there. He helped revive Wigan and did pretty well at Crusaders with the cards he was dealt.
Anyone saying he wouldn't be a good appointment want their heads read really. That said I doubt he'd apply for it.

Would have agreed with that, although there's not many SL vacancies unfilled, are there? And it looks like John Kear is 'dropping down' a level, to go to Batley.
