Morgs downfall this season has been to give very little gametime to Cox, Taylor and Watts, who have been superb when they have had their limited chances, but instead he's gone with some players either out of form, or just not good enough.

Several Cas fans claiming Millward set to be announced as their new coach. Anybody know if this is true?

Couple of guys at work who are cas season ticket holders reckon he will be unveiled in our local press on thursday..

seems it was between him and Noble but Noble wanted more than cas would pay him...they reckon john sharp as his second in command..

just what a couple of cas sporters were saying at snap time..

Well reverting back to after the CC Final. He never once mentioned he is enjoying his time at Leigh and has a big project to complete etc etc
Can't blame him if it is true, considering the inevitable tightening of belts next season. If we can go on and win this comp then he would have left us a legacy behind this time - unlike before. Would be a big void to fill tho.

This is why the announcement last week never came, he pulled out over a week ago. Cas have been trying to get him to change his mind and failed. Adrian Lam & Justin Morgan weren't interested either so Millward got the call friday and accepted this morning. Having worked with 'Basil' for the last two years people who say he is 'difficult to like' are morons, he is the most knowledgeable man on Rugby League I have ever met, he always makes time for people but doesn't suffer fools gladly so for all those that say he isn't easy to like well.....
I for one hope the rumours are not true but if they are I will wish him well and will miss his knowledge and sense of humour and friendship.

As good as Millward has been for us, I think we have to be realistic that Leyth was only ever going to be a stepping stone for him to get back in to Super League - a man of his talents deserve to be plying his trade at the top level. Dare I say it, it would probably reduce our expenditure somewhat if we hired a lower-paid coach to replace him.

No doubt whatsoever that he will give his undivided attention to the job in hand until the minute if/when he leaves.

Get Kear at Leigh if he goes.
