Thats right John. When i was at Leigh Colts, Oldham was the place that used to have the best youngsters on their books and mostly Leythers. At the time they had the best training facilities and paid the best signing on fees.

But those with a bit of 'nous' - and who are well advised, would see that - when it comes to facilities and coaching, there isn't much in it.

until we get into SL we must accept we cannot compete with a SL club, lets hope that we reach SL so that we can compete in the future.
Would also like to see them at Wire/Saints before Humbles though.

I think leigh is a good place for a young player to improve himself now and we do seem to be far more focused on youth than we've ever been.

BUT,
Wigan can offer pro terms,we can offer semi pro terms. I think.
Under those conditions surley a player has a better chance of playing at the top level at wigan ?.

Should have, although the odd Australian or ten occasionally get in their way!

You could be right there Alan, the harder these clubs fight to stay at the top the more Antipodean they seem to go.

To be fair in our 23s we have lads from Ince Rose Bridge etc which is classed as Wigan so it works both ways.
