The design might work as a change strip as I suppose you can have a bit of artistic licence, but for a home kit it's an absolute monstrosity and will be the first one in a long while that I won't be buying.

Never doubted anything about personal choice Fred, just a bit disappointing after having pretty decent home shirts for the past couple of years at least to end up with a knock-off Cardiff Devils top.

But there is a time period between cutting edge and retro and this shirt fits right there.

well i wont buy it ..prefer a polo anyway tbh i didnt like last years either bought the away kit , hang on thinking about it i always buy the away kits at least it dont look like a wigoon shirt so thats a bonus and it aint pink so we should count ourselves lucky .

As i said on another thread i will be sticking with last seasons home shirt, unless it looks better when i see someone wearing one and it then grows on me, same as Matt it will be the first time for a lot of seasons i have not bought one if it doesn't.

Got a text off the lad I know who designed it and he said it looks miles better in the flesh, mind you, he would. And hes a pie.

We have, over the years had some pretty ghastly efforts. (The Asda diamonds one and the Lifting Gear Hire Bukta "Jazz Band" thing spring to mind) This one is, imho up there with the worst of them. Breaking with the tradition of hoops is not a new thing regarding our kits, remember the classic Windowcraft shirt, I even remember us playing in white shirts with a red vee (a la Saints) in the early 70's and in all yellow in the 1971 Lancs cup final. After all, it's what's inside the shirt that counts.

to be fair the white with a blue V and the yellow were the alternative strip at that time

I don't think anyone was expecting a design quite like this one after such a classy jersey last season & it's abit of shock at first sight but I think more people will grow to like it in time. Personally I don't think it's as horrific as some people have said & although I am undecided right now I voted it as "ok" on the poll but I think I'll gow to like it more hopefully when I see it in the flesh & probably get one.

To be fair he's done a good top the last two years and both the East and Miners tops are blinders, so for a pie he's not having a disaster.

I've got a team photo on my wall from 1971 of the team wearing a shirt with a vee and always presumed it was a red vee, though no ideas on why it was the case as I'm not as old as you or Fred

yes the home team did have to change, we have played with a red vee, my recollections of a blue v could well be affected by the amount of Double Diamond I used to consume in those days (for all you pups DD was a real gradely drink and Manns brown ale (mmmm) not this knatts pee that passes for lager these days - then again who remembers Grunhaller (sp) now that was cr*p)
