Totally agree about Riddy,if the lad has been injured,he has done really well this season, and could come back rejuvenated after a close season rest,i feel he could guide us around the field well next season,nowt much wrong with our forwards though,maybe replace Jock,and a second row like Andy Isherwood,its wingers we need,id be ready to give Higson a chance,as for Nixon?A very good winger but would he be prepared to leave Barrow?

Doubtful. Harlequins offered him a deal last year and he turned it down. He is a local with a young family and a good career as an architect(?) working locally.

From watching you a few times this season i don't think theres much doubt that its your backline that needs a bit more pace and flair.

If the winger I'm on about is called Nixon and my theory that Barrows' finances will soon go bump i think he will, my theory is based on how much they pay some players and how they can't afford it on the gates they must get.

How do Leigh afford their squad? How do Halifax afford their squad? (the best in the league imo), how does any club afford to run a team in the current climate?

Bear in mind that we are one of the few clubs outside SL never to have been in administration, the club has an unbroken 135 year history, admittedly we may not have had much success in the past 30 years apart from the last couple of seasons, but that was solely down the club refusing to spend money it didn't have.

And if he turned down a SL club, why would he choose Leigh?. From the few conversations I have had with him, I'd suggest its more likely he would quit the game rather than travel.

As a Barrow fan ,you must know something,as we Leigh fans dont know the lad Nixon, however i hear Ballards contract is up at the end of the coming season , this lad has pace no doubt , and gives me the oppinion,he always wants to win,Leigh fans what about Ballard from Barrow?

who can blame him ,he has hardly had any game time this year but has continued to train as hard as ever and no doubt will push himself to the limit to come back bigger,stronger and with an extra yard of pace next season but it will not be in a Leigh shirt

I think it will be a good season next season, but I've not got a good feeling with regard to the team.

Mort and Alstead will not be retained for next season, I think basil gave a verbal list to the executive members after thursdays game of players leaving.
Mort, Alstead, McConnell, Armitstead. Nannyn amongst others were on that 'list' so i'm led to believe.

Think Mort and Alstead are mistakes in my opinion but then again I'd have had them playing most of the season. Ian obviously thinks otherwise for whatever reason.
