No, it's obviously not going to happen, although they don't 'come for nothing', as travelling expenses are paid to the visiting team, before they take 50% of the gate. Also, the cost of staging the game, is paid to the home team, before the gate is shared. (i.e. cost of renting LSV, stewarding etc.)

Perhaps it's slightly unfair if the home team sells 1,500 tickets and the away team say 20?

No. If there's no away team, the home team sells no tickets at all. That's the thing about sport - you need an opposition.

We'll get that in the next round after our bye because you don't turn up. There again, might be facing the same problem of a lack of away fans if we play the Smogs in the next round...
