If I remember rightly it was a sunny Sunday afternoon KO for us. If we KO at 6pm Fri I wouldn't have been able to go, and I'd be annoyed too.
We are an established RL town, where in Wales they are growing a fan base. This attendance is cr@p on paper (just to be clear ) but there is obviously more to it than that. That is not defending RFL or Crusaders in any way. It is pointing out the obvious. ie our historic 1st ever SL game against Hudds was 4,047 - that is cr@p ( ) considering what we went through to get there, but of course the ones that went know why it was low. On here you can have excuses for our gates, but the evil ones ie Crusaders/Quins don't have that luxury.

| 4000 wasnt crap.infact it was a good gate for a team whos support wasnt very good the season before.but if you think the game being on tv,in terrible weather conditions and little away support stopped us from getting a 10,000 gate then thats fine by me.

| Hang on if they are growing a fan base in S Wales why move the club to N Wales?
or If trying to grow a fan base in N Wales why move the game to S Wales.
trying to compare a televised game in horrible weather conditions 5 years ago is clutching at straws, especially when the RFL were not paying the wages of certain club members

I think the point he was making was the terrible weather, same for the Bradford game too.

You give a answer that is basically saying what I said but turning it around if tho I hadn't. Why do you do this?
Read what I posted again and you will see I do justify our low crowd, unlike some on here that don't look further at other clubs crowds like the Crusaders one for reason why. There are many reasons for our recent low crowds, but we must never accept poor crowds by comparing to say Crusaders on a silly KO etc. If we want to set proper targets then look at Widnes as a bar to reach. We have our own problems but some seem to revel at other clubs, or dismiss good crowds as must be freebies etc.

| Botom Line is that it was not carp - it was absolutely discraceful - WHATEVER THE REASON
There is something wrong when a televised Championship 2 match can get a greater attendance than Super League match played at ANYTIME.
But its a pointless discussion as the RFL dont give a flying and will paper over the cracks again to ensure that the blinkered will remain blinkered and that the "expansion clubs" will survive.

like for like SL attendances before this week were down 1.8% on last year despite Wire and Crusaders posting big increases, they are 2 of just 5 sl teams showing an increase on last year

They were told to play it in that week as it was a rearranged game from week 9 when we had the ice age , It's the KO time that baffles me ?
The RFL didn't want any other SL games played on the CC weekend as it may affect Dicks master plan to kill the game
It's the same bollox as making teams play on the same day as an England world cup game and then saying " Your attendance figures are not acceptable "
The prick

| On the bright side, without trying to sound like I'm defending Crusaders, the 1122 fans that attended their game against Quins would probably not be watching live RL games if it wasn't for the introduction of a Welsh club.

| Oh they are hard done by...not. The RFL as they did with LS have given money to a backer who will spend the bare minimum on the side (and no doubt redirect some to the footballing side). Had there been no North Wales alternative, Crusaders would be no more - fact

Its like trying to quantify Footballs Premiership and Championship, the two differ by a heck of a lot.

Don't disagree with the point but there's a much, much bigger gulf between SL and Championship than there is between the Premiership and Championship.

I think you missed out the following clubs in the premiership, add these into the mix and the gulf widens significantly.
Man U
Man City
Tottenham H
Arsenal

Tis true.
Maybe if the Premier was only 14 teams (a la SL) there would be a fairer comparison between the relative 'gulfs'?
