I've just watched the game on Sky+ and conclude one thing. Eddie Hemmings is a first class cock.

You could not hear the songs on Sky and he could have easily ignored the pitchside commentators comments rather than having another one of his anti-Leigh digs. Not once did he compliment the large number of fans there in Leigh shirts - pretty much every crowd shot showed Leythers in their colours.

When he tells the world 'there are lots of drunken grown men fighting [iagain[/i at the Grand Final' or 'there really is no need for language like that when the fans are singing, its a family game' then I'll take him seriously.

Just been talking to the Tomkins boys at the gymthis morning,they both said fans singing never bothers them,Sam sai hes never heard of the Flute Song,they are BOTH very nice, verymodest lads,good onyer both,Sam is gonna be a Star,no doubt,Karl Pryce,had to go in the steam room sideways,he is a big bloke .

Although i have been defending the fans by saying it was'nt just Leigh fans i still think they were wrong to sing what they did and if they thought it sounded good on tv then i'm afraid they are wrong it just showed how stupid and pathetic they are for singing such tripe ,Leeds for example sing their hearts out about the club and it comes across great just wish Leigh would do the same but they will carry on singing the tripe just to annoy those that hate it

We could sign Billy Slater and struggle to get another 200 so I don't see how 10% of our average support are staying away because of the flute song.

AD - The IRA/Fcuk W1gan song is hardly end of the world of course, and most probably won't stop the core of the support going - and I'm sure too, that there isn't 200 fans sat at wom cursing and wishing they could go to the game if it wasn't for that dastardly IRA song. But it is selfish of the few to claim to support Leigh but sing such drivel, when it can offend and embarress our club - especially at internationals. Such tribal songs would more than likely attract the ones we don't want (which snows balls) like against Halifax, rather than the much needed and preferable families.
