why not just send tickets to the away teams club??

obvs big teams should get more than the teams who bring no fans! this will shut the likes of widnes and fax fans who moan. then were all happy!

But I don't think your comments are ridiculous. All I am trying to point out is we should make it as easy as possible for fans who do not want to come because of our current arrrangements to not have the inconveniece of waiting for a ticket at the LSV. Sell tickets in Leigh town centre send away club tickets' open 2 cash turnstyles.

We have 2 or 3 clubs in our league who potentially bring numbers lets encourage and re home supporters well the LSV has to show confidence in people who are willing to sell tickets in Leigh town centre.

Still think getting there earlier isn't end of world. Sending tickets to away clubs that are likely to bring a few fans is also a no brainer.

This 'get there earlier or tough' is nonsense.

Maybe folk dont want to get in the bloody ground at 2.30! Maybe they want a pint at Easts and stroll over at 2.50. It does not make them bad people especially when the ground is no more than 20% full.

Could you ever imagine Asda saying 'If you want bread this week you have to get here earlier. 2.30 every Sunday. Take it or leave it.'

With regular shoppers tutting that "it's only busy when offers are on".

We want more customers, so make it as easy as we possibly can for them to get in.

Telling them to get there earlier (as if they are naughty boys) is not the answer.

Went to W1gan the other week to watch Kick Ass (excellent film by the way

). We arrived 15 mins or so b4 film started went to pay for tickets at the payment counter, then went to this bored out of his brains guy that ripped half the ticket off then went down the corridor to the door of movie to queue up to get in. After about 5-10mins or so we entered and sat down, having to watch 20 mins of cr@ppy commercials. What a palarva (sp?)!!
Its not end of the world. Having cash turnstiles for 10 mins prior to KO to let in the latecomers from the pubs isn't a priority in my book, unless we was getting a unexpected bumper crowd and/or there are major road works etc - but even then you would delay KO if possible.
If we have cash turnstiles the crowds will not go up because of it. OK send tickets to away clubs, but that should be done anyway.

i'm not saying to anybody get there earlier.
what i'm saying to home supporters is get your ticket early[they've got 7 daysand then you can turn up when you want.
away support is differant especially for evening games.

OK my last post on this thread. I do not think queueing for 20 minutes for something I want to watch is the end of the world. Some do however and if we gain a few Speccies by spending £30 on a cash turnstyle by trying it then I think we should try it.

Should it not work OK we have lost £30. Big deal and re the lad at the flicks if you go again give him a Claphams pastie and he might smile.

But if 200 people think, "ooh there is a cash turnstyle" and all turn up at 2.45 or so at the one cash turnstyle, some will be complaining they missed the kick off. Operator faffing around for £6 change here or £4 there, it'll take a while. They just won't be able to win.

frank,another possible problem with cash turnstiles is this...all those people who currently can be bothered to get ther tickets earlier in the week will stop doing so & they will then start turning up at 2-55 just like the others.then before you know it we've got queues at the cash turnstiles & loads of moaning people again.human nature im afraid.
best thing to do is buy a season ticket.

The trade off of having a modern stadium against the aging HP. As already said the turnstiles aren't geared up for permanent cash turnstiles. What we are talking about here is arriving 15-20 mins b4 KO, perhaps 30 mins if bigger than normal crowd.
We have fresh memories of queues for LSV because of the alien concept of tickets, but lets not forget the famous Tommy Sale terrace corner (near golden gate) 5-10 mins b4 KO - queues!

Or we could all buy season tickets and save the hassle

This is not me as because I have said my previous post was the last one I would make on this thread so someone else is doing the keyboard.

On Sunday a Fax fan said to me last seasons queue and delay in getting in would put at least 100 of their fans off going to the LSV in a couple of weeks. The person typing this post (not the Watcher btw) said he did not think that many visited last season.

My good friend giving me the instructions tells me to say we are talking about 150/200 arriving at our stadium 5 minutes before kick off and if we ever fill the place we will have to delay kick off till Monday morning.

He is having a glass of wine now and humming the flute song.

Tell your mate that he should start going in the South Stand at the Shay, Frank - took ages to get in again yesterday. Makes Leyth look efficient!

Frank is snoring and incoherant as usual.

I have put his bucket' clean socks and underwear at his side of the bed.

Expect he will be at the LSV tomorrow whilst I shall be having a sweet sherry and watching a Star Trek rerun.

I remember a few years ago I got invited in one of the boxes at Maine Road, and thought I'd flog my ticket. Sold it no problems but then I realised ST's only had seat details on the book. That poor bloke would not have realised until inside the ground that he would be playing musical chairs for most of 1st half.



Regarding stadium tickets I have got a plan - delay KO until 3.30pm. But don't tell the latecomers.

Road works have started on the bridge, single lane traffic, big queues both ways tonight at around 7, should be fun trying to get to the ticket office tomorrow night and the England game
