Des Johnstone's attitude will not serve the Barrow club in the long term. He craves instant success and woe betide anyone who fails to deliver. We'll have to wait and see how this season transpires but the 'champions' are definitely not going to have things all their own way this year.

Barrow are a very good team and will not be far off the top and the GF this year , however if I was to forecast , I think they'll fall just a bit short , I'd say a 3 rd place for them

Fax for top this time no problem , with 3/4 others chasing second , as for Des , cannot fault his investement both in money and passion , but sometimes you have to understand that sport is not like a normal business , you can only demand success so far , no amount of money can guarantee it

And I can't imagine there is anyone particularly interested in what you think about DJ's importance relative to others in the sport, the only thing that is known is that he is far more important than you!

Nobody is asking anyone to like DJ, you are not required to hang out with him, work for him, be his friend or even acknowledge him if you see him in the street. So why do some of you feel the need to criticise/gossip/bitch about the guy, do you behave like this every time you take a dislike to someone? I am note making any statements about his personality or defending any of his actions, real or as mostly appears on here imaginary. Lets not get into a slagging match about members of each others clubs off field staff and focus on the rugby.

Publish away FredParky if you think its of benefit to anyone. I have little doubt it will not affect the Barrow Club and will be unlikely to bother DJ much. I also think publishing it would do you little credit either.

My statement about the imagined wrongdoings of DJ was not against any specific content within this thread but relates to a number of tired old routines about him paying players with brown paper envelopes, betting 50k on Barrow to win the GF (bet he wishes that one was true) and others about his supposed failings. For all he is supposedly an undesirably character he has yet to be the subject of any discipline or reprimand from the governing body or be the subject of any official complaints. He may not be everyone's cup of tea but it would be boring if we were all the same and I think the game needs characters, warts and all.

N0.7 he LOVES to put himself in the 'spotlight' unlike most other chairmen. So if he gets 'flak' for it TOUGH !

DJ proved himself to be a boor of the highest order this week. Are you defending that?

I honestly cannot see much point in defending the indefensible.

He was wrong about his team because they played some good stuff and are a very competant side. He should get one of Freds DVD,s and watch that first half again as should all those Barrow fans who think their side played badly.

Give credit where it is due Leigh should have won.

His bad mouthing of his side will backfire on him.

I do give credit to Leigh for their performance and I am not defending his outburst as such. But how many of the people who are on here slagging him actually heard him being disrespectful to Leigh, intentionally or not.

I don't see how you can say Leigh should have won, it was 4 tries to 3 and on balance I think the draw was fair to both sides as they both played some good and poor rugby, typical start of season stuff really.

I noticed that both Chris Young and Steve McCormack were complimentary about Leigh in post match interview's, pity Millward didn't see fit to return the compliment.

Please explain why publishing it wouldnt give me much credit? it is the truth, but I have more respect for the Barrow club than it would appear the chairman of that club has, the people who were present know that it was the 'rantings' of a spoiled child who didnt recieve his sweets that night.

Don't publish Fred. It may be right but you won't be very welcome when you need to go to their place. The fact that respected people on this site have said it happend is enough.
