Why should that have to be the case ?

As long as it is a parent and a child , they are doing the correct thing with using a seperate stand , that is the important part , as for any of the ' gloryhunting t055ers ' that only turn up with a freeby , not a problem , but they have to sit with families and the bar should be shut , no transfers

So can someone clear up how you get one and where from? Do you need to be a member of Easts or Miners?

It doesn't need to be. I put that because it said that thats what the ticket will admitt. I dont care if it's an adult and one or even three children so long as it is not just one, two or even three adults using this promotion together. Like I said before it needs to be policed properly so that the famillies it is targeting are the ones using it.

Which is the important bit , so then the question is , will the club/LSV have stewards checking this outside the turnstiles at the south stand ?

Will they refuse entry to and retain the tickets of anybody not complying with the free family criteria ?

Will they refuse to allow any transfers once inside the ground ?

Will they decline the sale of alcohol in the south stand ?

The one other thing they should be doing is having somebody giving out a ' flyer ' to everybody else entering the stadium having bought a ticket explaining the reasoning behind free tickets and why the club has to try these type of initiatives if we are ever to , 1 st become a self sustaining Championship club , and 2 nd ever have a chance of getting into SL

I understand Peawaps point of view , but quite simply it is wrong , and that tells us and the club that they are not informing the loyal paying fans of why it is so important to try any means to grow our support base

The important thing is it should have been clearly stated on the form for the tickets and yes a flyer should be produced or posters put up inside the ground telling fans the reason for the free tickets. But and it is a big but you will still have resentment towards the club if people are allowed to abuse the "free familly ticket offer" and there will always be people willing to try it on. What I would say is this time see how it goes and learn from any problems that arise. And why do you need stewards checking the tickets outside when you have people on the turnstilles and stewards stood just inside. Oh and while I'm at it if this offer is only open for the south stand it should be pretty easy to police. Simples.

Because once they are inside it is much more difficult to remove them , outside however , all they need is to put up the barriers that they have and watch the people queing , if you dont have what appears a family group they ask , " may I see your ticket ? , who is this ticket for ? " if they cannot show that they are a family group , then you dont give them the ticket back

Also a season ticket holder, but will have to do as last season V Fev and use myself on the free family ticket as it's the only way I could sit with the rest of my family in the south stand.

if all the tickets get taken then yes put a steward on each turnstile as much for H&S as anything else but no berriers please.
the bar & food counter needs to be open.the children need to be given little gifts,flags to wave.get a balloon company in to hand the flags out with a balloon filled with helium to be let go when the players come out.if we want families to buy family tickets for this season & seasons to come the club needs to use these promotions to make this a fantastic 2hours entertainment for everyone especially the kids.

Im a ST holder and have no problem with the freebies being given away.

You never know, some of these people on the freebies may come back and that for me can only be a good thing.

Atherton Dragons, Golborne Parkside, Leigh East, Leigh Miners Rangers, and Westhoughton Lions, have all been given 400 tickets between them for the South Stand hopefully they'll get on TV, they've been asked to attend in their club colours, and each club should have a banner with their clubs name on, other things are also planned, think there will be an official statement before Thursday.

Why not do it like every other entertainment venue and if the turnstile opperator sees that the people trying to use the ticket are not adults and children then they give them the nod and the perps dont advance any futher than the entrance. You still have to get through revolving gate. Anyway it's not rocket science and thankx to whoever it was for deleteing my other post. The flyers by the way could be put in the programes as they would be directed to the people who buy it and are most probably season ticket holders. I can't believe people can't see how easy it would be to do properly.

never having been a steward or wanting to be one TBH but when we used to police games (and hats all stewards do -that is take the police precence away) it wasnt to check tickets. Thats the job of the gate operators, out side the ground stewards are there to relieve congestion-check for knives-keep order etc, if i was in charge of them those would be my prime concern, i wouldnt have them checking tickets.
Why pay students Steve when any flyers can be picked up or given out by gate operators? does anyone actually read a flyer if its handed to you? I dont, might as well just leave a box outside the gate at least they would be easier to pick up and throw away in the bin rather than them flying all over the place in any wind.

All this fuss about the fact that someone has paid for 400 family tickets and has decided that they should be given away on a 'one off' occassion, its hardly a crime get over it people.
