I wouldn't have gone that far



I dont recall that many people infering that the players we had , didn't want to play for him , more players we couldn't get not wanting to sign for him

There have been a few infering he cannot get the players to play for him , or that he is not able to get the players to play good enough RL to win enough games , of which I am guilty

Having said that , tonight has shown us that nobody can get a team to play better than the rest by a country mile for a whole season

But as tonight showed if you dont chance your arm you dont win , Barrow played Fax at their own game tonight , they kept the ball alive and ran Fax ragged

Since he came to this club Paul Rowley has been a cancer behind the scenes that has spread to a point were he had total control of things and finally managed to Kll Leigh RLFC.

If you believe the crap and spin docter crap thats being touted about relegation from that joke shop of a CEO then you bordering on delusional mate.

Fact is these peopl are not only bleeding Leigh RLFC dry but taking Arthur Thomas to the cleaners along the way.

As good a player as Paul Rowley was he just doesnt have the inteligence or people skills to coach/ manage in any walk of life im affraid.

As for his old fella wasnt much of a player in all honesty and certainley on merit shouldnt be anywere near any kind of administrative role in professional sport..................Jobs for the boys same old Leythers.

Why would Ian Watson make a statement to any media like that? Just because he has become Paul Roweys mate? You lot must be mad. Would any one on here make a false statement just because you were their friend, knowing that at some point you could be found out. Ian would be the laughing stock of our game as the lads who play with him and against him week in, week out would know the truth. To add to this now I would like the club to make a full and detailed statement (not just a few paragraphs) that really goes into the depths of what happened to us last season. List it in order of the season. Month by month. Be honest with us for once.
One last thing. Don't think that I am that naive to think that that interview would not have been edited if it had something damning in it .

Take the failings of the past into consideration by all means but I'd rather see a structured plan for the future.

That statement was a way of safe gaurding his final payout i would guess and also as hes going into a coaching role not burning any bridges at Swinton keeping the peace with a club that could offer good links to some of our younger players for loans etc.

I happen to respect Watto and as a thinking player with decent people skills would be a far better option in a coaching capacity than PR has/ ever will be.

Sad to see Watto go as he did well in the championship this year in a poor side and will stand out ni C1 next term.

Dont believe the hype tho the only press that leigh will let out at the minute will be Pro all things Rowley but for every Watson like statement there is 10 to the contary re PR trust me.

Personally I didn't think PR should be at the club any longer but I dont have any evidence that he should have gone other than the results and the fact that he is the only common denominator in the clubs bad form in recent years. What I would like to know is where you get this information that he is as bad a coach as you say. Is it from the players? If so which players? Is it from other staff at Leigh? Lets have facts.

Its not exactly a secret and certain players former players have made no secret of the fact he has been the bad apple at leigh in recent years.

Utter garbage, for every coach I can show 10 players who dont like him. Each players thinks they should be in any starting team, fact is they cant. Coaches have their fans and their enemies.

In Paul's second stint at Leigh which began in 2002, we have won 3 trophies, been to 6 finals, gained entry to SL, and been relegated twice. Some cancer??

Watto isnt the only player in last years squad who rates Paul Rowley as a coach, a good few more will back him - their words not mine ask them.

And if people are still using the 'Kelly' argument they are totally out of touch with what has gone on over recent months. Again ask the plyers they are the ones in the know.

Also why should the interview with Watto be 'Bull'? (not read it myself as yet)
